Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara karakteristik pekerjaan dengan kepuasan kerja pada karyawan di Dinas Perhubungan Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Terminal Terpadu Amplas Kota Medan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah karyawan bagian pengaturan lalu lintas yang bekerja di Dinas Perhubungan Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Terminal Terpadu Amplas Kota Medan yang berjumlah 35 orang. Teknik pengambilan pengambilan sampel menggunakan Total Sampling, yaitu pengambilan data secara keseluruhan dan semua populasi dijadikan sampel. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode skala, metode skala yang digunakan yaitu skala Likert, yang terdiri dari skala karakteristik pekerjaan dan skala kepuasan kerja. Metode analisis data menggunakan teknik korelasi Product Moment dari Pearson. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh hasil bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima yaitu ada hubungan antara karakteristik pekerjaan dengan kepuasan kerja. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan koefisien korelasi rxy=0,494 dengan p=0,001 < 0,010, sedangkan koefisien determinasi (r2) sebesar 24,4%. Selanjutnya data berdistribusi normal, diketahui hasil dari karakteristik pekerjaan p=0.200 > 0.05 dan kepuasan kerja p=0.062 > 0.05, dan ada hubungan linearitas antara variabel x dan variabel y dengan hasil p beda=0.001 < 0.05.Hasil perhitungan mean hipotetik dan mean empirik diperoleh bahwa karakteristik pekerjaan tergolong sedang cenderung tinggi, dengan nilai mean empirik 52,2 dimana nilai tersebut lebih tinggi dari nilai mean hipotetik yaitu 47,5 dan kepuasan kerja tergolong tinggi, dengan nilai mean empirik 107,2 dimana nilai tersebut lebih tinggi dari nilai mean hipotetik yaitu 95. This study aims to examine the relationship between job characteristics and job satisfaction in employees at the Transportation Department of Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Terminal Terpadu Amplas Medan. The subject of this research is the employee of the traffic control section who works at the Department of Transportation Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Terminal Terpadu Amplas Medan City, amounting to 35 people. Sampling technique using Total Sampling, the overall data collection and all the population sampled. Method of data collection using scale method, scale method used is Likert scale, which consist of job characteristic scale and job satisfaction scale. Data analysis method using Product Moment correlation technique from Pearson. Based on the results of data analysis obtained the results that the hypothesis proposed in this study accepted that there is a relationship between job characteristics with job satisfaction. This is evidenced by the correlation coefficient rxy = 0.494 with p = 0.001 <0.010, while the coefficient of determination (r2) of 24.4%. Furthermore, the data is normally distributed, it is known that the result of job characteristics p = 0.200> 0.05 and job satisfaction p = 0.062> 0.05, and there is a linearity relationship between variables x and y variables with different results = 0.001 <0.05.Hot calculation of hypothetical mean and empirical mean it was found that the job characteristics were moderately high, with the mean value of 52.2 which was higher than the hypothetical mean value of 47.5 and the job satisfaction was high, with the mean value of 107.2 where the value was higher than the mean value hypothetical that is 95.
