The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between self-efficacy and academic stress in final year students who are working on a thesis at the University of Medan Area. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. The population of this research is the 2017 Stambuk students who are working on the thesis, totaling 243 people. And the sample used is 38 people. Sampling technique using purposive sampling. The data collection method uses a Likert scale. The data analysis technique uses Product Moment Correlation. The results showed the correlation significance value p = 0.000 p<0.010, meaning that there was a negative relationship between self-efficacy and academic stress in final year students who were working on thesis at the Medan Area University, with a determinant coefficient (r2) of 0.278 or 27.8%. In other words, the hypothesis is accepted. Student self-efficacy is low (empirical mean = 55.55 < hypothetical mean = 65 where the difference is not more than SD = 8.321) and for student academic stress it is high (empirical mean = 106.26 > hypothetical mean = 92.5 where the difference is not more than SD = 8,283). | en_US |
