Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara harga diri dengan motivasi berprestasi pada penerima beasiswa luar negeri di kota Medan. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif korelasional. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah harga diri dan motivasi berprestasi. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 30 orang yaitu, penerima beasiswa luar negeri di kota Medan. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode quota sampling. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan skala harga diri dan skala motivasi berprestasi yang disusun berdasarkan skala likert. Harga diri di susun berdasarkan aspek-aspek menurut Rosenberg (dalam Tafarodi & Milne, 2002), yaitu self competence dan self liking. Sedangkan motivasi berprestasi di susun berdasarkan aspek-aspek menurut McClelland (dalam Syarifah, 2017), yaitu tanggung jawab, mempertimbangkan resiko pada saat pemilihan tugas, memperhatikan umpan balik, kreatif dan inovatif, dan waktu penyelesaian tugas. Data penelitian diuji menggunakan uji korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya hubungan signifikan antara harga diri dengan motivasi berprestasi pada penerima beasiswa luar negeri, (dimana rxy = 0,496 dengan signifikan p = 0.000 < 0,050). Selanjutnya diketahui kontribusi harga diri terhadap motivasi berprestasi adalah sebesar 24,6% (r2= 0,246) diketahui pula bahwa tingkat harga diri tergolong tinggi (mean empiric = 83,83 > mean hipotetik = 72,5) dan tingkat motivasi berprestasi tergolong tinggi (mean empirik = 94,60 > mean hipotetik = 80). This study aims to determine the correlation between self-esteem and achievement motivation in overseas scholarship recipients in Medan. The type of research used is correlational quantitative research. The variables used in this study are self-esteem and achievement motivation.The number of samples used in this study amounted to 30 people, namely the recipients of overseas scholarships in Medan. The sampling technique used the quota sampling method. The method of data collection in this study used a self-esteem scale and achievement motivation scale based on a Likert scale. Self-esteem is arranged based on aspects according to Rosenberg (in Tafarodi and Milne, 2002), which is self competence and self liking. Meanwhile, achievement motivation is arranged based on aspects according to McClelland (in Syarifah, 2017), which is responsibility, considering risks when selecting tasks, paying attention to feedback, being creative and innovative, and task completion time. The research data was tested using the product moment correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between self-esteem and achievement motivation in overseas scholarship recipients, (rxy = 0.496 with significant p = 0.000 <0.050). Furthermore, it is known that the contribution of self-esteem to achievement motivation is 24.6% (r2 = 0.246). It is also known that the level of self-esteem is high (empirical mean = 83.83> hypothetical mean = 72.5) and the level of achievement motivation is high (empirical mean = 94.60> hypothetical mean = 80).
