Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui secara empirik hubungan body image dengan kepercayaan diri pada remaja di Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Agama Islam Aceh Tamiang. Body image adalah gambaran mengenai tubuh yang terbentuk dalam pikiran seseorang, atau dengan kata lain gambaran tubuh menurut dirinya sendiri. Kepercayaan diri merupakan salah satu aspek kepribadian yang berupa keyakinan akan kemampuan diri seseorang sehingga tidak terpengaruh oleh orang lain dan dapat bertindak sesuai kehendak, gembira, optimis, cukup toleran, dan bertanggung jawab. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Aceh Tamiang Jurusan Psikologi. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik random sampling yang berjumlah 40 orang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instumen yang digunakan adalah angket body image dan kepercayaan diri yang telah valid dan reliabel. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan skala likert. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik r Product Moment. Berdasarkan analisi data, diperoleh bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini diterima, yaitu ada hubungan antara body image dengan kepercayaan diri pada remaja di Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Agama Islam Aceh Tamiang. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai atau koefisien hubungan (Rxy) = 0.530 dengan p 0.000 < 0.050. Kontribusi body image dengan kepercayaan diri dilihat dari nilai koefisien determinan (R2) = 0.281 atau sebesar 28.1%. This study aims to determine empirically the relationship between body image and self-confidence in adolescents at the Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Aceh Tamiang. Body image is a picture of the body that is formed in one's mind, or in other words a picture of the body according to itself. Self-confidence is one aspect of personality in the form of belief in one's own abilities so that they are not influenced by others and can act according to their wishes, are happy, optimistic, tolerant enough, and responsible. The population in this study were students of the Aceh Tamiang Islamic High School, Department of Psychology. The sampling technique in this study was random sampling technique which collected 40 people. The research uses a quantitative approach. The instrument used is a selfconfidence and body image questionnaire that has been valid and reliable. Data collection method using Likert scale. Data analysis in this study used the r Product Moment technique. Based on the analyzed data, it was found that the hypothesis proposed in this study was accepted, namely the relationship between body image and self-confidence in adolescents at the Aceh Tamiang Islamic School of Science. this is evidenced by the value or relationship coefficient (Rxy) = 0.530 with p 0.000 < 0.050. The contribution of body image to self-confidence is seen from the coefficient of determination (R2) = 0.281 or 28.1%.
