dc.description.abstractTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah : (1) Mengetahui hubungan empati dengan interaksi sosial; (2) Mengetahui hubungan motivasi belajar dengan interaksi sosial; dan (3) Mengetahui hubungan empati dan motivasi belajar dengan interaksi sosial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 150 siswa sedangkan peneliti menetapkan sampel yang digunakan adalah total sampling, yaitu siswa kelas VII, VIII, dan IX SMP Methodist 1 Medan. Pengukuran interaksi sosial menggunakan skala interaksi sosial. Pengukuran empati menggunakan skala empati dan pengukuran motivasi belajar menggunakan skala motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi berganda dengan teknik pengambilan sampel probability sampling. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada hubungan positif antara empati dan interaksi sosial diperoleh r = 0.578 ; p < 0,05, (2) ada hubungan positif antara motivasi belajar dan interaksi sosial diperoleh r = 0.694 ; p < 0.05, (3) ada hubungan positif antara empati dan motivasi belajar dengan interaksi sosial diperoleh r = 0.605 ; p < 0.05 dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis diterima. The objectives of this study are: (1) To determine the relationship between empathy and social interaction; (2) Knowing the relationship between learning motivation and social interaction; and (3) Knowing the relationship between empathy and learning motivation with social interactions. This research is a quantitative research. The population in this study amounted to 150 students while the researcher determined the sample used was total sampling, namely students of class VII, VIII, and IX SMP Methodist 1 Medan. The measurement of social interaction uses the social interaction scale. The measurement of empathy uses the empathy scale and the measurement of learning motivation uses the learning motivation scale. This study uses multiple regression analysis with probability sampling techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that (1) there is a positive relationship between empathy and social interaction, it is obtained r = 0.578; p <0.05, (2) there is a positive relationship between learning motivation and social interaction, it is obtained r = 0.694; p <0.05, (3) there is a positive relationship between empathy and learning motivation with social interaction, it is obtained r = 0.605; p <0.05, thus it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted.en_US
