Hubungan Efikasi diri dengan Penyesuaian Diri pada Mahasiswa Baru Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan efikasi diri dengan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa baru stambuk 2020 fakultas psikologi di UMA. Metode kuantitatif dengan hipotestis ada hubungan positif antara efikasi diri dengan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa baru fakultas psikologi dengan asumsi semakin baik efikasi diri maka semakin baik pula penyesuaian dirinya, begitu pula sebaliknya. Berdasarkan hasil analisa yang dilakukan maka hypotesis diterima dengan sampel ialah mahasiswa baru stambuk 2020 fakultas psikologi yang ada dikampuas 1 sebanyak 68 mahasiswa baru baik laki-laki maupun perempuan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan purposive sampling. Efikasi diri diukur dengan menggunakan Skala Efikasi Diri yang diukur dari 42 item yang valid (a = 103,26), sedangkan penyesuaian diri diukur dengan menggunakan Skala Penyesuaian Diri yang terdiri dari 54 item yang valid (a = 123,41). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan koefisien korelasi rxy 0,575, dengan signifikansi p = 0,000 berarti p < 0,05. Hasil menunjukkan hipotesis yang diajukan peneliti yaitu terdapat hubungan posistif antara efikasi diri dengan penyesuaian diri dapat diterima. Nilai koefisien korelasi positif menunjukkan arah hubungan kedua variabel adalah positif, artinya semakin baik efikasi diri maka semakin baik pula penyesuaian diri mahasiswa. Efikasi diri memberikan sumbangan efektif sebesar 33,1% kepada penyesuaian diri dan selebihnya 66,9% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini seperti motif persepsi, sikap, intelegensi dan faktor eksternal lainnya. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between self-efficacy and adjustment to new students from the stambuk 2020 faculty of psychology at UMA. The quantitative method hypothesized that there was a positive correlation between self-efficacy and self-adjustment in psychology faculty freshmen with the assumption that the better the self-efficacy, the better the adjustment, and vice versa. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, the hypothesis was accepted with the sample being that there were 68 new students from the stambuk 2020 faculty of psychology in Campus 1 as many as 68 new students, both male and female. Data collection using purposive sampling. Self-efficacy was measured using the Self-Efficacy Scale which was measured from 42 valid items (a = 103.26), while self-adjustment was measured using the Self-Adjustment Scale which consisted of 54 valid items (a = 123.41). The results of this study indicate the correlation coefficient rxy 0.575, with a significance of p = 0.000 means p <0.05. The results show that the hypothesis proposed by the researcher is that there is a positive correlation between self-efficacy and acceptable adjustment. The value of the positive correlation coefficient indicates the direction of the relationship between the two variables is positive, meaning that the better the self-efficacy, the better the student's self-adjustment. Self-efficacy provides an effective contribution of 33.1% to self-adjustment and the remaining 66.9% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study such as perception motives, attitudes, intelligence and other external factors.
