Abstract: Bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) adalah tanaman semusim yang memiliki umbi berlapis. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman bawang merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) dengan Pemberian nutrisi AB Mix yang ditanam pada berbagai jarak tanam vertical dan horizontal. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Jl.Balai Desa, No.25, Desa Marindal II, Kecamatan Medan Amplas, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, mulai Juli - November 2019. Metode penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan 2 taraf perlakuan yakni : (1) Faktor jarak tanam vertical (V) dengan 3 taraf , yaitu :V1 = 50cm, V2 = 40cm, V3 = 30cm. (2) Faktor jarak tanam Horizontal (H) dengan 2 taraf, yaitu : H1 = 20cm, H2 = 15cm. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh kesimpulan: (1) Perlakuan jarak tanam vertical memperlihatkan perbedaan yang nyata hingga sangat nyata untuk semua parameter pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman bawang merah yang ditanam secara hidroponik. 2) Perlakuan jarak tanam horizontal hanya berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah umbi bawang merah sedangkan untuk para meter yang lain tidak berpengaruh nyata. 3) Interaksi antara jarak tanam vertical dengan horizontal tidak berpengarih nyata untuk semua parameter pengamatan. 4) Produksi (Bobot basah) tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan V1H1 (51,537 ton/ha). Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) are annual plants that have layered tubers. The aim of the study was to determine the response of the growth and production of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) with AB Mix nutrition which was planted at various vertical and horizontal spacings. The research was carried out on Jl. Balai Desa, No. 25, Marindal II Village, Medan Amplas District, Deli Serdang Regency, from July - November 2019. The research method was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 levels of treatment, namely: (1) Factors vertical planting distance (V) with 3 levels, namely: V1 = 50cm, V2 = 40cm, V3 = 30cm. (2) Horizontal spacing factor (H) with 2 levels, namely: H1 = 20cm, H2 = 15cm. From the results of the research that has been carried out, the conclusions are: (1) The treatment of vertical spacing shows a significant to very significant difference for all growth parameters and production of hydroponically grown shallot plants. 2) The horizontal spacing treatment only had a significant effect on the number of shallot bulbs while for the other meters it had no significant effect. 3) The interaction between vertical and horizontal spacing has no significant effect on all observation parameters. 4) The highest production (wet weight) was in the V1H1 treatment (51.537 tons/ha).
