dc.description.abstract | Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) menyebabkan penyakit hawar daun bakteri (HDB) pada tanaman padi (Oryza sativa). Artinya penyakit tersebut dapat menurunkan produksi dan kualitas secara signifikan yang pada akhirnya mengakibatkan kerugian ekonomi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsentrasi ekstrak daun sirih (Piper betle L), biji mahoni (Swietenia mahagoni (L.) Jacq) dan daun serai wangi (Cymbopogon nardus) terbaik dalam menghambat bakteri xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae. Metode penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap non-faktorial yang terdiri dari 14 perlakuan dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor perlakuan konsentrasi adalah daun sirih, biji mahoni, dan daun serai wangi adalah kontrol negatif; Kontrol positif (bakterisida sintetik 0,15%); Dan konsentrasi masing-masing ekstrak adalah 25%; 50%; 75%; 100%. Penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa ekstrak daun sirih, biji mahoni dan daun serai wangi mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, steroid, dan tanin yang memiliki aktivitas antimikroba untuk menghambat infeksi Xoo. Ekstrak daun sirih, biji mahoni dan daun serai wangi dapat mencegah bakteri xoo pada 75% dan dengan 100%. Dengan zona hambat rata-rata 11,30 mm (ekstrak daun sirih 75%), 13,23 mm (ekstrak daun sirih 100%), 10,00 mm (ekstrak biji mahoni 75%), 11,17 mm (ekstrak biji mahoni 100%), 11,67 mm (ekstrak daun serai wangi 75%), 12,90 mm (ekstrak daun serai wangi 100%). Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa semua ekstrak yang diuji efektif dan berpotensi sebagai antimikroba. Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae (Xoo) causes bacterial leaf disease (HDB) in rice (Oryza sativa). That is the disease could lower the production and quality significantly which eventually economic crop loss. The purpose of this study was to investigate the best concentration of rare-leaf extract (Piper betle L), mahagony seed (Swietenia mahagoni (L.) Jacq) and citronella fragrance (Cymbopogon nardus) to inhibit the xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae. The method of this research was a complete ramdom design consisting of 14 treatments with 3 replication. Factors regarding the treatment of concentration of betel leaves, mahagony seeds, and citronella fragrance was negative control; Positive control (synthetic bacteriescence 0.15%); And the concentration of each extract is 25%; 50%; 75%; 100%. Study revealed that extract of betel leaves, mahagony seeds and citronella fragrance contain alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, steroids, and tannin which have antimicrobial activity to inhibit Xoo infection. Betel leaf extract, mahagony seed and citronella fragrance can prevent xoo bacteria at 75% and with 100%. With average inhibition zone 11,30 mm (betel leaf extract 75%), 13.23 mm (betel leaf extract 100%), 10.00 mm (mahagony seed extract 75%), 11.17 mm (mahagony seed extract 100%),11,17 mm (extracts of 75% citronella fragrance), 12,90 mm (extracts of 75% citronella fragrance). Based on this study it could be summarize that all of the leaf extracted tested were effective and have a potential as antimicrobial. | en_US |
