Abstract: Gangguan komunikasi intrapersonal self-harming dapat terjadi pada saat melakukan pertukaran informasi, yang disebabkan adanya gangguan pada proses dan penerimaan pesan komunikasi. Gangguan tersebut dapat disebabkan oleh tidak berjalannya saluran maupun tidak efektifnya pesan yang disampaikan oleh komunikator atau komunikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktorfaktor apa saja yang menyebabkan terjadinya gangguan komunikasi intrapersonal yang terjadi pada remaja di Desa Sei Rotan Kabupaten Deli Serdang pada masa pandemi Covid-19, dan ingin memahami bagaimana proses komunikasi interpersonal yang dilakukan remaja tersebut di dalam keluarga dan lingkungan tempat tinggalnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara. Observasi yang dilakukan dengan cara observasi non partisipasi yang mengamati perilaku remaja, melakukan wawancara mendalam dan mendokumentasikan tanda-tanda bekas self-harm yang dilakukannya. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori persepsi. Denis Coon dalam Rakhmat (2018:61) yang melibatkan unsur sensasi, persepsi, memori, dan berpikir. Hasil penelitian terhadap 3 remaja dan keluarganya mendeskripsikan bahwa fenomena self-harming yang terjadi disebabkan kurang harmonisasinya komunikasi pada lingkungan keluarga dan teman serta adanya trauma dialami yang dapat menimbulkan merasa tidak diperdulikan, kekecewaan, depresi serta frustasi. Pentingnya perhatian, dukungan keluarga, dan motivasi untuk remaja dengan pendekatan spiritual-keagamaan dapat mengurangi dan menyembuhkan fenomena selfharming di kalangan remaja. Intrapersonal communication disorders Self-harming can occur when exchanging information, which is caused by disturbances in the process and reception of communication messages. The disturbance can be caused by the channel not working or the ineffectiveness of the message conveyed by the communicator or communicant. This study aims to determine what factors cause intrapersonal communication disorders that occur in adolescents in Sei Rotan Village, Deli Serdang Regency during the Covid-19 pandemic, and want to understand how the interpersonal communication process carried out by teenagers in the family and environment. his place. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews. Observations were carried out by meansparticipating non observation observing the behavior of adolescents, conducting in-depth interviews and documenting signs of former self-harm that they did. The theory used in this study is Denis Coon's perception theory in Rakhmat (2018:61) which involves elements of sensation, perception, memory, and thinking. The results of the study on 3 teenagers and their families describe that the self-harming that occurs is due to lack of harmonization of communication in the family and friends environment as well as experienced trauma that can cause feelings of neglect, disappointment, depression and frustration. The importance of attention, family support, and motivation for adolescents with a spiritual-religious approach can reduce and cure the phenomenon of self-harming among adolescents.
