Abstract: Erwin Simamora “Respon Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea Mays L. Saccharata Sturt) Terhadap Pemberian Pupuk Kandang Sapi Dan Berbagai Sumber Biochar “, dibimbing oleh Dr. Ir. Sumihar Hutapea. MS dan Ir. Ellen L. Panggabean. MP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pemberian pupuk kandang sapi pada tanaman jagung manis dan mengetahui respon pemberian berbagai sumber biochar pada tanaman jagung manis dan mengetahui respon produksi tanaman jagung manis kombinasi pupuk kandang sapi dan berbagai sumber biochar dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area dengan ketinggian tempat 20 meter di atas permukaan laut, topografi datar, mulai penelitian bulan September 2017 dan selesai bulan Januari 2018. Rancangan yang di gunakan adalah rancangan acak kelmpok (RAK) factorial dengan dua factor perlakuan, faktor pertama :perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu : S0 = ( NPK Mutiara 16:16:16/300 kg/ Ha), S1 = 5 ton/ Ha 720 /plot ), S2 = ( 1,44 kg /plot), S3 = ( 2,16 kg /plot) dan factor kedua perlakuan berbagai sumber biochar terdiri dari 5 taraf perlakuan yaitu : B0 = (control ),B1=( 1,44 kg Biochar kendaga dan cangkang biji karet/ plot ), B2 = ( 1,44 kg Biochar kulit jengkol/ plot ), B3 = (1,44 kg Biochar kemiri/ plot ), B4 = ( 1,44 kg Biochar tempurung kelapa/ plot ) dan parameter yang di amati dalam penelitian yakni : tinggi tanaman (cm), jumlah daun (helai),bobot kotor produksi per sampel (g). Bobot bersih produksi per sampel (g). Diameter tongkol tanpa kelobot per sampel (cm), bobot kotor produksi per plot (kg), bobot bersih produksi per plot (kg). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian perlakuan pupuk kandang sapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman 2 sampai 7 MST dan jumlah daun berpengaruh nyata 5 sampai 7 MST dan pemberian pupuk kandang sapi pada dosis 10 ton/ha (S2) merupakan taraf perlakuan yang memiliki bobot kotor produksi per sampel dengan bobot 274,40 gram berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan lainnya pada bobot kotor produksi per sampel, dan bobot bersih produksi per sampel tidak nyata pada pemberian pupuk kandang sapi dan berbagai sumber biochar pada tanaman jagung manis, diameter tongkol tanpa kelobot per sampel pemberian perlakuan berbagai sumber biochar berpengaruh tidak nyata, bobot kotor produksi per plot (kg) menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap perlakuan pemberian pupuk kandang sapi, sedangkan pada perlakuan pemberian berbagai sumber biochar dan, kombinasi antara pemberian pupuk kandang sapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot kotor produksi per plot dan bobot bersih produksi per plot tanaman jagung manis yang sudah dilakukan, menunjukkan pengaruh yang tidak nyata terhadap perlakuan pemberian pupuk kandang sapi dan kombinasi berbagai sumber biochar. Panggabean, MP, as the writer thesis advisor. This study aims to determine the response of giving cow manure to sweet corn plants and knowing the response to giving various sources of biochar to sweet corn plants and knowing the response of sweet corn production to a combination of cow manure and various sources of biochar carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Medan Area. With an altitude of 20 meters above sea level, flat topography, the research began in September 2017 and was completed in January 2018. The design used was a randomized Block Design Factorial with two treatment factors, the first factor: cow manure treatment consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely: S0 = (NPK pearl 16:16:16 / 300 kg / Ha), S1 = 5 tons/Ha 720/plot), S2 = (1.44 kg/plot), S3 = (2.16 kg/plot) and the second factor was the treatment of various biochar sources consisting of 5 treatment levels, namely: B0 = (control), B1 = (1.44 kg of biochar rubber Pod and rubber seed shells / plot), B2 = (1.44 kg of biochar jengkol skin / plot), B3 = (1.44 kg of biochar candlenut / plot), B4 = (1.44 kg of coconut shell biochar/plot) and the parameters observed in the study were: plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), gross weight of production per sample (g). Net weight of production per sample (g). Diameter of cob without grain per sample (cm), gross weight of production per plot (kg), net weight of production per plot (kg). The results showed that the treatment of cow manure had no significant effect on plant height 2 to 7 WAP and the number of leaves had a significant effect 5 to 7 WAP and the application of cow manure at a dose of 10 tons/ha (S2) was the treatment level that had a gross production weight per sample with a weight of 274.40 grams was significantly different from other treatments on the gross weight of production per sample, and the net weight of production per sample was not significantly different from the application of cow manure and various sources of biochar on sweet corn plants, cob diameter without husk per sample treatment with various sources of biochar had no significant effect, gross weight of production per plot (kg) showed a significant effect on the treatment of cow manure, while in the treatment of various sources of biochar and, the combination of cow manure was not significant effect on the gross weight of production per plot and net weight of production per plot of sweet corn plants that have been carried out, showing no significant effect on the treatment of cow manure and a combination of various biochar sources.
