Hubungan antara Kepercayaan Diri dengan Kecemasan pada Mahasiswa Psikologi yang Sedang Menghadapi Skripsi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan variabel kecemasan dan kepercayaan diri terhadap variabel kecemasan dan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa Psikologi yang akan menghadapi skripsi di Universitas Medan Area. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menguji variabel bebas yaitu kecemasan dengan variabel terikat yaitu kepercayaan diri. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Psikologi yang akan menghadapi skripsi dengan jumlah sampel 60 mahasiswa. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah, ada hubungan yang negatif antara kepercayaan diri dengan kecemaan pada mahasiswa psikologi yang akan menghadapi skripsi, dengan asumsi semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri maka semakin rendah kecemasan demikian pula sebaliknya semakin rendah kepercayaan diri akan semakin tinggi pula kecemasan. penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara kecemasan dengan kepercayaan diri. dengan koefisien korelasi r = - 0,434 pada p = 0,001 < 0,05. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwah hipotesis dalam penelitian “diterima” yaitu hubungan yang negatif antara kepercayaan diri dengan kecemaan pada mahasiswa psikologi yang akan menghadapi skripsi,yang menunjukan semakin tinggi kepercayaan diri maka semakin rendah kecemasan begitu pula sebaliknya semakin rendah kepercayaan dirinya semakin tinggi kecemasan. Kepercayaan diri dalam penelitian ini tergolong tinggi (mean hipotetik kepercayaan diri = 50 < mean empiric = 56,98 ) sedangkan kecemasan dalam penelitian ini tergolong sedang (mean hipotetik kecemasan = 40 <mean empiric = 38,33). This study aims to see the relationship between the variables of anxiety and self-confidence on the variables of anxiety and self-confidence of Psychology students who will face a thesis at the University of Medan Area. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. This study examines the independent variable, namely anxiety with the dependent variable, namely self-confidence. The subjects in this study are Psychology students who will face a thesis with a sample of 60 students. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a negative relationship between self-confidence and anxiety in psychology students who will face the thesis, with the assumption that the higher the self-confidence, the lower the anxiety and vice versa, the lower the self-confidence, the higher the anxiety. research shows that there is a significant negative relationship between anxiety and self-confidence. with correlation coefficient r = - 0.434 at p = 0.001 < 0.05. These results indicate that the hypothesis in the research is "accepted" which is a negative relationship between self-confidence and anxiety in psychology students who will face the thesis, which shows the higher the self-confidence, the lower the anxiety and vice versa the lower the self-confidence the higher the anxiety. Confidence in this study is high (hypothetical mean of self-confidence = 50 < empirical mean = 56.98 ) while anxiety in this study is classified as moderate (hypothetical mean of anxiety = 40 < empirical mean = 38.33).
