Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan antibakteri ekstrak rumput teki (Cyperus rotundus) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Escherichia coli dan Salmonella typhi dengan mengukur diameter zona hambat. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan uji LSD sebagai uji lanjutan dengan satu faktor yaitu variasi konsentrasi ekstrak rumput teki 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100%, aquades sebagai kontrol negatif dan antibiotik chloramphenicol sebagai kontrol positif. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa ekstrak rumput teki dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Escherichia coli dengan diameter zona hambat terbesar ditunjukkan oleh konsentrasi 100% yaitu 2,33 mm dan diameter zona hambat terkecil terdapat pada konsentrasi 20% yaitu 1,00 mm. Sedangkan pada Salmonella typhi zona hambat terbesar ditunjukkan pada konsentrasi 100% yaitu 3,03 mm dan zona hambat terkecil ditunjukkan oleh konsentrasi 20% yaitu 1,07mm. Hasil uji ANOVA dan LSD dengan uji kepercayaan 95% menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata diameter zona hambat pada tiap perlakuan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak rumput teki dengan konsentrasi 80% sebagai konsentrasi yang paling efektif dalam menghambat pertubuhan Escherichia coli dan Salmonella typhi. This study aims to determine the antibacterial ability of Cyperus rotundus extract in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi by measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone. This research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) and LSD test as a follow-up test with one factor, namely variations in the concentration of Cyperus rotundus extract 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100%, distilled water as a negative control and the antibiotic chloramphenicol as a positive control. . The results showed that the extract of Cyperus rotundus could inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli with the largest inhibition zone diameter indicated by a concentrated of 100% which was 2.33mm and the smallest inhibition zone diameter was found at a concentration of 20%, namely 1.00 mm. While in Salmonella typhi the largest inhibition zone was shown at a concentration of 100%, namely 3, 03mm and the smallest inhibition zone was indicated by a concentration of 20%, namely 1.07 mm. The results of the ANOVA and LSD tests with 95% confidence test showed that there was a difference in the average diameter of the inhibition zone in each treatment with variations in the concentration of Cyperus rotundus extract with a concentration of 80% as the most effective concentration in inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi. |
