dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan ekstrak etanol rimpang kencur dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Microsporum canis dan Staphylococcus epidermidis. Metode yang digunakan adalah bersifat eksperimental menggunakan metode difusi cakram kemudian data dianalisis dengan uji Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Konsentrasi yang digunakan yaitu 40, 50, 60, dan 70% dengan 4 kali pengulangan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol rimpang kencur dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Microsporum canis dengan diameter zona hambat terbesar ditunjukkan oleh konsentrasi 70% yaitu 5.88 mm dan diameter zona hambat terkecil ditunjukkan oleh diameter 40% yaitu 3.94%. Sedangkan pada Staphylococcus epidermidis dengan diameter zona hambat terbesar ditunjukkan pada konsentrasi 70% yaitu 3.16 mm dan diameter zona hambat terkecil ditunjukkan pada konsentrasi 40% yaitu 2.01 mm. Hasil uji ANOVA dengan uji kepercayaan 95% menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata diameter zona hambat pada tiap perlakuan. Pada uji LSD 0.05 variasi ekstrak etanol rimpang kencur dengan konsentrasi 40% efektif sebagai antimikrob terhadap Microsporum canis. Sedangkan uji LSD 0.05 pada variasi ekstrak etanol rimpang kencur terhadap Staphylococcus epidermidis tidak memberikan hasil yang signifikan maka perlakuan ekstrak etanol rimpang kencur tidak efektif sebagai antimikrob terhadap Staphylococcus epidermidis. This study aims to determine the ability of kencur rhizome ethanol extract in inhibiting the growth of Microsporum canis and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The method used is experimental using the disc diffusion method and then the data were analyzed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) test. The concentrations used were 40, 50, 60, and 70% with 4 repetitions. The results showed that the ethanol extract of kencur rhizome could inhibit the growth of Microsporum canis with the largest diameter of the inhibition zone indicated by a concentration of 70% which was 5.88 mm and the diameter of the smallest inhibition zone indicated by a diameter of 40%, which was 3.94%. Meanwhile, Staphylococcus epidermidis with the largest inhibition zone diameter was shown at 70% concentration, namely 3.16 mm and the smallest inhibition zone diameter was shown at 40% concentration, namely 2.01 mm. The results of the ANOVA test with 95% confidence test showed that there was a difference in the average diameter of the inhibition zone in each treatment. In the LSD 0.05 test variation of kencur rhizome ethanol extract with a concentration of 40% was effective as an antimicrobial against Microsporum canis. While the LSD 0.05 test on variations of the kencur rhizome ethanol extract against Staphylococcus epidermidis did not give significant results, the kencur rhizome ethanol extract treatment was not effective as an antimicrobial against Staphylococcus epidermidis.en_US
