dc.description.abstract | Upacara adat Melayu dilakukan dalam masyarakat secara turun temurun. Upacara tersebut berisi berbagai ritual dengan menggunakan berbagai jenis tumbuhan yang memiliki fungsi masing-masing sesuai dengan ajaran para leluhur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis tumbuhan dan jenis masakan/hidangan yang dihidangkan pada acara pernikahan dan maknanya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode wawancara dan pemilihan informan melalui sampel yang ditargetkan. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan 36 spesies dari 19 famili tumbuhan yang digunakan dalam ritual upacara pernikahan suku Melayu. Organ tanaman yang digunakan adalah daun (15%), batang (6%), bunga (6%), buah (39%), umbi (9%), biji (18%), rimpang (12%). Dari jenis tumbuhan yang digunakan, beberapa makanan/hidangan yang selalu disajikan pada saat akad nikah dan mengayunkan anak adalah nasi manis, baling/nasi kuning, manisan, nasi ulam, rendang, semur, cabe rawit, acar, tauko. Melayu traditional ceremonies are carried out in society from generation to generation. The ceremony contains various rituals using various types of plants that have their respective functions in accordance with the teachings of the ancestors. This study aims to determine the types of plants and the types of dishes/dishes served at weddings and their meanings. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with interviews and selection of informants through targeted samples. The results of the study revealed 36 species from 19 plant families used in the Melayu tribe's wedding ceremony rituals. The plant organs used were leaves (15%), stems (6%), flowers (6%), fruit (39%), tubers (9%), seeds (18%), rhizomes (12%).
