dc.description.abstract | Buhri Andika Siahaan. 178210071. Buhri Andika Siahaan. 178210071. Response to Vegetative Growth of Oil Palm Seeds (Elaeis quineensis jacq) with Empty Bunch Ash and Rice Husk Biochar with Different Compositions on Soil Media in Prenursery Phase. The thesis is under the guidance of Sumihar Hutapea as supervisor I and Rizal Aziz, as supervisor II. This study aims to determine the response of the vegetative growth of oil palm seedlings (Elaeis quineensis jacq) by giving bunch ash and rice husk biochar, and to determine the dose of bunch ash and rice husk biochar on oil palm seedlings. This research was carried out on the experimental land of the University of Medan Area which is located on Jalan PBSI Medan Estate, Percut Sei Tuan District with an altitude of 22 meters above sea level (mdp), flat topography, carried out from September - December 2021. The design used in this study is a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK), which consists of 2 treatment factors, namely: 1) The dose factor of empty bunch ash (A) which consists of 4 levels, namely: A₀ = control (without empty ash bunch), A₁ = empty ash bunch (25%) 250 gr/polybag 2 kg, A₂= empty ash bunch (50%) gr/polybag 2 kg, A₃= ash bunch empty (75%) gr/polybag 2 kg; and 2) Rice husk biochar dose factor (B) consists of 4 levels, namely: S₀= Control (without rice husk biochar), B₁= rice husk biochar 5 tons/ha (0.5 kg/plot) or 100 gr/polybag 2 kg, B₂= rice husk biochar 10 tons/ha (1 kg/plot) or 200 gr/polybag 2 kg, B₃= rice husk biochar 15 tons/ha (1.5 kg/plot) or 250 gr/polybag 2 kg ; each treatment level was repeated 2 (two) times, with observation parameters: plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area and root length. From the results of this study, it was obtained: 1) Giving empty bunches of ash had a very significant effect on stem diameter, but had no effect on leaf area, plant height, number of leaves and root length; 2) rice husk biochar had a significant effect on leaf area and root length, but had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves and stem diameter; and 3) the combination of the two treatment factors had no significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area and root length. | en_US |
