Abstract: Produksi jagung dapat ditingkatkan melalui peningkatan produktivitas dengan sistem tumpangsari. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui jarak tanam yang optimum dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi jagung hibrida (Zea mays L) yang ditanam di lahan karet. Untuk mengetahui varietas yang memiliki pertumbuhan dan produksi yang paling tinggi pada berbagai jarak tanam yang ditanam di lahan karet klon PB260 dengan jarak tanam 7 x 3 m pada fase TBM. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Sei Putih, Kecamatan Galang, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, ± 45 km dari kota Medan dengan ketinggian 80 mdpl. Waktu penelitian dimulai Agustus - Desember 2020. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi (RPT) Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor perlakuan yaitu Penggunaan varietas sebagai petak utama terdiri dari ;V1 = Varietas Bisi 18, V2 = Varietas HJ 21, V3 = Varietas DK 959 V4 = Betras 8 V5 = Pioner 32. Penggunaan Jarak Tanam sebagai anak petak terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu ; J1= 70 cm x 20 cm, J2= 70 cm x 30 cm, J3= 70 cm x 40 cm. Perlakuan diulang 2 kali. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, luas daun, panjang tongkol per tanaman (cm), berat bersih tongkol per tanaman (g), berat bersih tongkol per plot (g), bobot 1000 biji (g), banyak baris tongkol per tanaman, jenis dan intensitas serangan hama dan penyakit per plot. Hasil penelitian diperoleh varietas jagung tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua variabel yang diamati kecuali jumlah baris tongkol per tanaman. Jarak tanam tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap variabel pengamatan. Varietas pioner 23 yang ditanam dengan jarak tanam 70 cm x 30 cm memiliki produksi yang lebih tinggi sebesar 8,06 ton/ha dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Maize production can be increased by increasing productivity with an intercropping system. This study aims to determine the optimum spacing to increase the growth and production of hybrid maize (Zea mays L) grown in rubber plantations. This study aims to determine the varieties that have the highest growth and production at various spacings planted on rubber clones PB260 with a spacing of 7 x 3 m in the TBM phase. The research was conducted in Sei Putih Village, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province, ± 45 km from the city of Medan with an altitude of 80 meters above sea level. The research time starts from August to December 2020. The study used a Factorial Split Plot Design which consisted of 2 treatment factors, namely the use of varieties as the main plot consisting of; V1 = Bisi 18, V2 = HJ 21, V3 = DK 959 V4 = Betras 8 V5 = Pioneer 32. The use of spaces as subplots consists of 3 levels, namely; J1 = 70 cm x 20 cm, J2 = 70 cm x 30 cm, J3 = 70 cm x 40 cm. The treatment was repeated 2 times. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, length of ear per plant (cm), net weight of cobs per plant (g), net weight of cobs per plot (g), weight of 1000 seeds (g), number of cob row per plant, type and intensity of pest and disease attack per plot. The results showed that corn varieties had no significant effect on all observed variables except the number of cob rows per plant. Spacing did not significantly affect the observed variables. The pioneer 23 variety planted with a spacing of 70 cm x 30 cm had a higher production of 8.06 tons/ha compared to other treatments.
