Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan pola asuh orang tua dengan motivasi berprestasi siswa SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Mulia Medan. Motivasi berprestasi adalah dorongan yang kuat untuk berhasil dan kebutuhan untuk melakukan segala sesuatu dengan baik untuk suatu tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Pola asuh orangtua adalah cara atau metode pengasuhan yang digunakan oleh orang tua agar anak-anaknya dapat tumbuh menjadi individu-individu yang dewasa secara sosial. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Mulia Medan. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, dengan jumlah sampel 80 siswa. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan model skala likert, yaitu skala pola asuh orang tua dan skala motivasi berprestasi. Uji analisis data mengunakan teknik kolmogorov-smirnov (rxy) diperoleh hasil sebesar 0,494 dengan signifikansi p = 0.000 < 0.050. Artinya hipotesis diterima yaitu terdapat hubungan positif antara pola asuh orangtua dengan motivasi berprestasi pada siswa di SMP Yayasan Pendidikan Mulia Medan. Motivasi berprestasi tergolong tinggi dimana mean hipotetik = 70 < mean empirik = 90.81 dan selisihnya melebihi bilangan SD = 12.43. Pola asuh orangtua tergolong tinggi dimana mean hipotetik = 70 < mean empirik = 92.58 dan selisihnya melebihi bilanngan SD = 10.71. Adapun Koesfisien determinan dari korelasi tersebut sebesar r2 = 0.509. Artinya pola asuh orangtua memberikan sumbangan efektif terhadap motivasi berprestasi pada siswa sebesar 50.9%. This study aims to look at the relationship between parenting style and achievement motivation of students at the Mulia Education Foundation Middle School, Medan. Achievement motivation is a strong drive to succeed and the need to do everything well for a set goal. Parenting is a parenting method or method used by parents so that their children can grow into socially mature individuals. This research was conducted at the Mulia Education Foundation Middle School, Medan. The approach in this study uses a quantitative method. The data collection technique used a purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 80 students. The data collection method uses the Likert scale model, namely the parenting style scale and the achievement motivation scale. Data analysis test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov technique (rxy) obtained a result of 0.494 with a significance p = 0.000 <0.050. This means that the hypothesis is accepted, namely that there is a positive relationship between parenting styles and achievement motivation in students at the Mulia Education Foundation Middle School, Medan. Achievement motivation is classified as high where the hypothetical mean = 70 < empirical mean = 90.81 and the difference exceeds the SD number = 12.43. Parenting style is classified as high where the hypothetical mean = 70 < empirical mean = 92.58 and the difference exceeds the SD number = 10.71. The determinant coefficient of this correlation is r2 = 0.509. This means that parenting style makes an effective contribution to student achievement motivation by 50.9%.
