Penyebaran Berita Hoaks Covid-19 di Media Sosial (Analisis Deskriptif di Tiga Grup Facebook)

Abstract

Penyebaran berita hoaks kian hari makin marak di media sosial, terlebih pada saat masa pandemi Covid-19. Wabah Covid-19 (Coronavirus Disease) ini telah menjadi pandemi global yang melanda lebih dari 200 negara di dunia. Penyebaran berita hoaks Covid-19 ini tak hanya ada di beranda Facebook, namun di grup-grup Facebook. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis konten penyebaran berita hoaks Covid-19 di tiga grup Facebook. Ketiga grup Facebook terdiri dari Info Medan Terkini (IMT), SUMUT TERKINI, serta KABAR SUMATERA UTARA ~NUSANTARA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode netnografi, yang mana studi ini berfokus pada pemahaman di ruang siber. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, dan wawancara sebagai teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan 7 berita hoaks Covid-19 di grup Facebook, serta hoaks ada kaitannya dengan teori konspirasi. Bentuk berita hoaks kesehatan tentang Covid-19 seperti Konten yang Menyesatkan dan Konteks yang Salah juga ditemukan di tiga grup. Begitupun reaksi para anggota grup yang mengundang berbagai reaksi seperti sedih, marah, prihatin pada saat menerima berita Covid-19, yang pada faktanya adalah hoaks tanpa menyaring dan menyeleksi informasinya terlebih dahulu dari sumber yang kredibel. Hal ini menjadikan berita hoaks Covid-19 semakin menyebar luas di grup-grup Facebook. The spread of hoax news is increasingly widespread on social media, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) outbreak has become a global pandemic that has hit more than 200 countries in the world. The spread of COVID-19 hoax news is not only on Facebook homepage, but on Facebook groups. The purpose of this study was to analyze the content of the spread of COVID-19 hoax news in three Facebook groups. The three Facebook groups consist of Info Medan Terkini (IMT), SUMUT TERKINI, and KABAR SUMATERA UTARA ~NUSANTARA. This study uses a qualitative approach with a netnography method, in which this study focuses on understanding in cyberspace. The data collection technique used is observation and interviews as a triangulation technique. The results of this study found 7 COVID-19 hoax news in the Facebook group, as well as hoaxes related to conspiracy theories. Forms of health hoax news about COVID-19 such as Misleading Content and False Context were also found in the three groups. Likewise, the reaction of group members which invited various reactions such as sadness, anger, concern when they received news about COVID-19, which in fact was a hoax without filtering and selecting the information first from credible sources. This has made hoax news about COVID-19 spreading widely on Facebook groups.
