This study aims to determine the correlation between career development and job satisfaction in family planning extension workers in Medan city. The type of research used is quantitative research with correlational methods. This study was measured by a Likert scale consisting of a career development scale and a job satisfaction scale processed using the SPSS version 20 program. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 85 family planning extension workers in Medan city. Based on the results of the r product moment correlation analysis, it is known that there is a positive correlation between career development and job satisfaction, where the rxy value = 0.360 with a significance value of p = 0.001 <0.05, which means that the hypothesis proposed by the researcher can be accepted. the coefficient of determination (r2) of the correlation of variable X and variable Y is r2 = 0.130, this shows that career development contributes to job satisfaction by 13% while the rest (87%) is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that career development is classified as high with a hypothetical mean value of 57.5 and an empirical mean value of 72.22, then for job satisfaction it is high with a hypothetical mean value of 50 and an empirical mean of 66.93.en_US
