This study aims to determine the correlation between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior in grade 2 students at SMP Negeri 1 Tebing Tinggi. Emotional intelligence is a person's ability to recognize, feel and control the emotions of oneself and others. Aggressive behavior refers to emotional behavior and acts of hostility that attack other living things verbally, physically and psychologically. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling, with a sample of 50 students. The retrieval method uses a Likert scale model. This research uses emotional intelligence scale and aggressive behavior scale. Product Moment correlation data analysis method. Based on the data analysis performed, the coefficient = -.562, the determinant coefficient = 0.316, with P = 0.000. Calculation of the hypothetical and empirical average values of emotional intelligence is 97.5 and 72.66, it is classified as low and aggressive behavior is 57.5 and 72.46, it is classified as high. Furthermore, the contribution of emotional intelligence to aggressive behavior is 31.6%, the remaining 68.4% is influenced by other factors. This means that the hypothesis is accepted.en_US
