dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kausalitas kecanduan internet dengan depresi. Metode yang digunakan kualitatif dengan wawancara dan observasi. Responden penelitian terdiri dari empat orang, dua laki-laki dan dua orang perempuan berusia 21-23 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan Internet Addiction Test (Young, 1998) serta Beck Depression Inventory II (Beck,1996) Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Responden I (BDI=14, Ringan; IAT=50, Sedang; dengan jenis kecanduan cyber-relationship addiction, information overload); Responden II (BDI=41, Berat, DSM-5 gangguan depresif utama; IAT=56, Sedang; dengan jenis kecanduan cyber-relationship addiction, information overload, computer addiction); Responden III (BDI=17, Ringan; IAT=61, sedang; dengan jenis kecanduan net compulsions, cyber sexual addiction, cyber-relationship addiction); Responden IV (BDI=25, Sedang; IAT=53, Sedang; dengan jenis kecanduan cyber sexual addiction, computer addiction). Dengan demikian keempat responden mengalami jenis kecanduan internet cyber-relationship addiction. Pada responden dengan depresi berat ketika bermain internet depresinya semakin parah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan kausalitas antara depresi dengan penggunaan internet. Penggunaan internet pada individu dengan depresi ditujukan untuk mengurangi depresinya yang pada akhirnya justru menunjukkan gejala depresinya This study aims to determine the causal relationship of internet addiction with depression. Qualitative method used with interviews and observations. The study respondents consisted of four people, two men and two women aged 21-23 years. This study used the Internet Addiction Test (Young, 1998) and Beck Depression Inventory II (Beck, 1996) the results of this study showed respondents I (BDI=14, mild; IAT=50, moderate; with the type of addiction cyberrelationship addiction, information overload); respondents II (BDI=41, severe, DSM-5 major depressive disorder; IAT=56, moderate; with the type of addiction cyber-relationship addiction, information overload, computer addiction); respondent III (BDI=17, mild; IAT=61, moderate; with the type of addiction net compulsions, cyber sexual addiction, cyber-relationship addiction); respondent IV (BDI=25, moderate; IAT=53, moderate; with the type of addiction cyber sexual addiction, computer addiction). Thus the four respondents experienced a type of internet addiction cyber-relationship addiction. In respondents with severe depression when playing the internet depression is getting worse. The results showed a causal relationship between depression and internet use. The use of the internet in individuals with depression is aimed at reducing their depression which in turn actually shows their depressive symptoms.en_US
