Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dengan profesionalisme pada personil Polri Direktorat Binmas Polda Sumatera Utara. Profesionalisme merupakan suatu tingkah laku, suatu tujuan atau kualitas yang menandai atau melukiskan coraknya suatu profesi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yang bersifat korelasional, dimana populasinya ialah seluruh Personil Polri Ditbinmas Polda Sumut yang berjumlah 51 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode skala yang disusun mengacu pada skala likert. Analisa data menggunakan Uji Korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan analisis program SPSS. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan nilai koefisien korelasi (rxy) = 0,549 dengan nilai p = 0.000 < 0.050. Koefisien determinasi mendapat hasil 0,302 sehingga ukuran kontribusi/sumbangsih kecerdasan emosional terhadap profesionalisme sebesar 30,2 % dan selebihnya 69,8 % yang merupakan faktor lain yang mempengaruhi profesionalisme. Hasil perhitungan mean empirik dan mean hipotetik menunjukkan variabel kecerdasan emosional di kategori sedang dengan Standart Deviasi 6,571, mean empirik sebesar 70,29, dan mean hipotetik sebesar 72,5. Hasil perhitungan mean empirik dan mean hipotetik variabel profesionalisme di kategori sedang dengan Standart Deviasi 6,918, mean empirik sebesar 71,84, dan mean hipotetik sebesar 75. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between emotional intelligence and professionalism of the Police in Directorate Community Development Police of Regional Police Force in North Sumatra. Professionalism is a behavior, a goal or quality that marks or describes the pattern of a profession. The research uses quantitative methods that are correlational, where the population is all Police of the North Sumatra Police Ditbinmas which amounts to 51 people. The Sample technique using total sampling. The data collection method uses a scale method that is arranged referring to the Likert scale. Data analysis using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Test with the help of SPSS program analysis. The results of data analysis showed the value of the correlation coefficient (rxy) = 0.549 with p = 0.000 < 0.050. The coefficient of determination got a result 0.302, so that the measure of emotional intelligence contribution to professionalism was 30.2% and the rest was 69.8% which is another factor that affects professionalism. The results of calculate empirical mean and hypothetical mean show that emotional intelligence variables in the medium category with a Standard Deviation of 6.571, an empirical mean of 70.29, and a hypothetical mean of 72.5. The results of calculate empirical mean and hypothetical mean of professionalism variables in the medium category with a Standard Deviation of 6.918, an empirical mean of 71.84, and a hypothetical mean of 75.
