Semakin tinggi indeks massa tubuh makan kadar gula darahnya semakin meningkat. Blood glucose is the level of sugar found in the blood which is formed from carbohydrates in food and stored as glycogen in the liver and skeletal muscles. Blood glucose levels are influenced by several factors including diet, lifestyle, weight gain, age and physical activity. Body mass index is a measure used to determine a person's nutritional status obtained from a comparison of weight and height. This study aims to determine the relationship between blood glucose levels and body mass index (BMI) at the Youth Posyandu, Jati Utomo Village, Binjai City. The research sample consisted of 30 people with the sample category being young men and women aged 12-19 years who carried out examinations at the Posyandu for Youth, Jati Utomo Village, Binjai City. The research data were analyzed using the normality test and the Spearman correlation test. The results showed that there was a relationship between blood glucose levels and body mass index (BMI) with a value of r = 0.67. This means that the correlation between BMI and blood glucose levels is a strong correlation. The higher the body mass index, the higher the blood sugar level.
