Hubungan antara Dukungan Sosial dengan Harga Diri pada Mantan Narapidana di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Medan

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan sosial dengan harga diri pada mantan narapidana, berdasarkan teori yang ada diajukan hipotesis : ada hubungan yang positif antara dukungan sosial dengan harga diri, dengan asumsi bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan sosial mantan narapidana maka harga diri semakin tinggi, demikian pula sebaliknya semakin rendah dukungan sosialnya maka harga dirinya juga rendah. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel adalah Purposive Sampling; dimana yang menjadi sampel penelitian ini adalah berdasarkan karakteristik jumlah sampel yang sesuai dengan karakteristik sampel berjumlah 45 orang. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil : Terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara Dukungan Sosial dengan harga diri. Hasil ini dibuktikan dengan kioefisien kolerasi rxy = 0,312; p > 0,050. dengan demikian maka hipotesis yang telah diajukan dalam penelitian ini, dinyatakan, diterima, dimana semakin tinggi Dukungan Sosial maka Harga Diri semakin baik dan semakin rendah Dukungan Sosial maka harga Diri semakin tinggi. Dukungan Sosial yang diberikan oleh lingkungan memberikan pengaruh sebesar 41,2 % terhadap Harga Diri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini maka iketahui bahwa masih terdapat sebesar 58,8% peranan dari faktor lain terhadap Harga Diri, dimana faktor-faktor lain tersebut dalam penelitian ini tidak dilihat, cliantaranya faktor lingkungan keluarga, teman, sebaya, penerimaan atau penolakan diri, jenis kelamin, status sosial ekonomi, faktor usia, prestasi dan pekerjaan. Bahwa Dukungan Sosial subjek penelitian ini dapat dipengaruhi oleh Harga Diri setiap individu baik kearah positif maupun kearah negatif, sesuai dengan interaksi sosial yang ada dalam diri individu tersebut. Social support provided by the environment has an influence of 41.2% of self-esteem. Based on the results of this study then I know that there is still 58.8% of the role of other factors on Self-Esteem, where the other factors in this study are not seen, Among them are family environmental factors, friends, peers, acceptance or self-rejection, gender, socioeconomic status, age factor, achievement and work. That Social Support the subject of this study can be influenced by Self-esteem of each individual both in a positive direction and in a negative direction, accordingly with the social interaction that exists within the individual.
