Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menguji secara empirik apakah ada hubungan antara interaksi sosial dengan kemandirian remaja di SMP 4 Negeri Takengon. Subjek penelitian adalah remaja, di SMP Negeri 4 Takengon yang berjumlah 84 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah instrumen interaksi sosial yang terdiri dari 27 item (a = 0.913) dan instrumen kemandirian yang terdiri dari 33 item (a = 0,958). Analisis data menggunakan teknik r Product Moment. Berdasarkan perhitungan analisis r Product Moment dengan nilai atau koefisien (Rxy) = 0.385 dan koefisien determinan (R2 ) = 0.148 dengan p = 0.000 < 0,050. Hasil ini menunjuka~ bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini dinyatakan diterima, yaitu ada hubungan antara interaksi sosial dengan kemandirian. Artinya semakin kurang baik interaksi sosial remaja maka kemandiriannya semakin rendah. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui perhitungan Koefisien determinan (R2 ) = 0.148 menunjukkan interaksi sosial membentuk kemandirian sebesar 14.8%. Selanjutnya interaksi sosial yang kurang baik pada remaja dilihat dari perhitungan mean hipotetik = 67.5 dan mean empirik 76.30 selisihnya melebihi standar deviasi = 10.086. Dan kemandirian dalam kategori rendah dilihat dari perhitungan mean hipotetik = 16.5 dan mean empirik 19.17 selisihnya melebihi standar deviasi = 2.763. This study aims to find out and test empirically Is there a relationship between social interaction and adolescent independence in SMP 4 Takengon Country. The research subjects were teenagers, at Takengon 4 Public Middle School which totaled 84 people. The measuring instrument used is the interaction instrument which consists of 27 items (a = 0.913) and the independence instrument consists of 33 items (a = 0.958). Data analysis uses the r Product technique moments. Based on the calculation of r Product Moment analysis with a value of or coefficient (Rxy) = 0.385 and the determinant coefficient (R2 ) = 0.148 with p = 0.000 < 0.050. These results indicate that the hypothesis proposed in this study declared accepted, that is, there is a relationship between social interaction and independence. This means that the less good the social interaction of adolescents is less independence. This is proven through calculations The coefficient of determination (R2 ) = 0.148 indicates social interaction forms independence of 14.8%. Furthermore social interaction is not good at adolescents seen from the calculation of the hypothetical mean = 67.5 and the empirical mean 76.30 the difference exceeds the standard deviation = 10.086. And independence in categories low seen from the calculation of the hypothetical mean = 16.5 and the empirical mean is 19.17 the difference exceeds the standard deviation = 2.763.
