Uji Daya Antibakteri Ekstrak Daun Senggani (Melastoma candidum) Terhadap Propionibacterium acnes

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya hambat ekstrak daun senggani (Melastoma candidum) terhadap Propionibacterium acnes dengan mengukur zona hambat. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan uji LSD sebagai uji lanjutan dengan dua faktor yaitu variasi konsentrasi ekstrak daun senggani 25%, 50%,75%, dan 100% , aquades sebagai kontrol negatif dan antibiotik chloramfenikol sebagai kontrol positif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun senggani memiliki daya hambat bakteri Propionibacterium acnes tetapi masih dibawah chloramfenikol, adapun konsentrasi optimal ekstrak daun senggani yaitu sebesar 75%. This study aims to determine the inhibition of senggani (Melastoma candidum) leaf extract against Propionibacterium acnes by measuring the zone of inhibition. This research methodused a completely randomized design (CRD) and LSD test as a follow-up test with two factors, namely variations in the concentration of Senggani leaf extract 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%, distilled water as a negative control and chloramphenicol as a positive control. The results showed that senggani leaf extract had the inhibition power of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria but was still below chloramphenicol, while the optimal concentration of senggani leaf extract was 75%.
