Abstract: | Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan self-regulation dengan sindrom FOMO (fear of missing out) pada mahasiswi Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area. Adapun Self-regulation This study aims to see the correlation between self-regulation and FOMO syndrome (fear of missing out) in female students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area. The sample in this study were 2019-2022 female students, with total of 88 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. Data collection uses the self-regulation scale and the FOMO-12 scale. The results of the study using the product moment correlation technique (𝑟𝑥𝑦) are known to be -0.456 with p = 0.000 <0.05. This means, there is a significant negative correlation between self-regulation and FOMO (fear of missing out) syndrome in female students, which indicates the lower the self-regulation of female students, the higher the FOMO (fear of missing out) syndrome is performed therefore the hypothesis in this study is accepted . Based on the data analysis results, it is known that student self-regulation is low with a hypothetical mean (57) > empirical mean (46.34) and the difference exceeds one SD (8.376), then, FOMO syndrome (fear of missing out) is classified as high with a mean hypothetical (30) < empirical mean (37.65) and the difference exceeds one SD (6.692). Self-regulation has contributed to FOMO (fear of missing out) syndrome by 20.7%. |
