Perancangan dan Analisis Alat Pengepres Daun Gambir

Abstract

Laporan ini merupakan rancangan ulang dari sebuah alat pengepress daun gambir. Alat pengepress ini menekan daun gambir dengan menggunakan tenaga hidrolik maupun screw press untuk mendapatkan getahnya. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah mengembangkan peralatan yang dapat menghasilkan getah gambir yang berkualitas. Selain pengaruh alat pengepres, kualitas getah gambir sangat tergantung pada kandungan catechinnya Semakin tinggi kandungan catechinnya maka gambir dikatakan semakin bermutu. Jenis alat screw press yang dikembangkan adalah jenis mesin screw press yang bervariasi pitchnya, Jenis screw press yang paling baik adalah screw press yang pitchnya berubah dari kecil ke yang lebih besar.
