Abstract: | Persimpangan merupakan bagian terpenting dalam suatu sistem jaringan jalan di daerah perkotaan karena sebagian besar dari efisiensi, kapasitas lalu lintas, kecepatan, waktu perjalanan, biaya operasi serta keamanan dan kenyamanan sangat tergantung pada perencanaan persimpangan. Di sisi lain, persimpangan merupakan salah satu tempat rawan kemacetan dan kecelakaan lalu lintas karena pada persimpangan terjadi lintasan-lintasan antar kendaraan yang saling berpotongan maupun kendaraan dengan pejalan kaki terutama sepeda motor. Hal inilah yang tercermin pada persimpangan J alan Gatot Subroto - J alan Sultan Iskandar Muda Medan, yang pada saat ini sering mengalami kemacetan yang intensitasnya cukup tinggi. Keadaan ini disebabkan oleh karena cukup besamya arus lalu lintas yaitu sepeda motor, banyaknya konflik yang terjadi yang kurang mendukung kelancaran kinerja lalu lintas pada persimpangan dimaksud. Intersections are the most important part of a road network system in Indonesia urban areas due largely to efficiency, traffic capacity, speed, travel time, operating costs as well as safety and comfort It really depends on the intersection planning. On the other side, the intersection is one of the places prone to traffic jams and accidents because At intersections there are passing paths between vehicles intersecting vehicles and pedestrians, especially motorbikes. Matter this is what is reflected at the intersection of Jalan Gatot Subroto - Jalan Sultan Iskandar Muda Medan, which currently often experiences traffic jams the intensity is quite high. This situation is caused by its size traffic flow is motorbikes, the number of conflicts that occur is less supports the smooth performance of traffic at the intersection in question. |
