Hubungan Konformitas Dengan Citra Diri (Self Image) Pada Mahasiswa Stambuk 2021 Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan Konformitas dengan Citra diri pada Mahasiswa Stambuk 2021 Fakultas Psikologi di Universitas Medan Area. Subjek penelitian ini ialah sebanyak 70 orang dengan penentuan sampel menggunakan teknik Purpossive Sampling. Jenis penelitian ini ialah kuantitatif, Pengumpulan data menggunakan dua skala yaitu skala konformitas yang disusun berdasarkan aspek dari teori Peplau dan skala citra diri yang disusun berdasarkan teori Brown. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala Likert untuk proses pengumpulan data. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji korelasional pearson product moment. Dari hasil analisis, diperoleh (rxy = -0,620) dengan nilai signifikansi (p= 0,000 < 0,005) artinya hipotesis diterima, ini bermakna semakin tinggi konformitas maka semakin rendah citra diri sebaliknya semakin rendah konformitas maka semakin tinggi citra diri. Pada penelitian ini konformitas tergolong tinggi dengan mean empirik 67,58 dan mean hipotetik sebesar 60 selanjutnya citra diri tergolong sedang dengan mean empirik sebesar 67,73 dan mean hipotetik sebesar 65. Koefesien determinan dari hubungan konformitas dengan citra diri ialah sebesar 0.835. Konstribusi konformitas terhadap citra diri sebesar 38,5%, selebihnya dipengaruhi faktor lain. This research was aimed to determine the correlation of conformity with self image in psychology students class of 2021, Medan Area University. The subject of this study were 70 students of class 2021 from psychology department, Medan Area University. The sample was collected using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection used two scales, conformity scales which was compiled according to Peplau’s theory and the self image was compiled according to brown’s theory, this study conducted by using the Likert method. Data analysis in this study uses the correlational test and using the Pearson Product Moment. From the results of the analysis it was obtained (rxy = 0.620; p = 0.000 <0.005). it means that the hypothesis is accepted, the higher the conformity, the lower the self-image and vice versa, the lower the conformity, the higher self-image. In this study, conformity was classified as high with an empirical mean of 67.58, and self-image was classified as average or consider on an enough with an empirical mean of 57.73. The contribution of conformity to self-image is 38.5% (r2=0.385).
