This study aims to determine the correlation between Democratic Parenting and Assertive Behavior in Class X Adolescents at SMAN 15 Medan. The research population was 432 Class X students of SMAN 15 Medan. In research using purposive sampling technique. Democratic parenting in this study was measured based on Baumrind's theory (in Rusilaanti 2015) there are four types of parenting: democratic parenting, authoritarian parenting, permissive parenting, neglectful parenting. Assertive behavior in this study was measured based on aspects according to Alberti and Emmons (in Walidah, 2020): Requests, Refusal, Self-expression, Praise, Playing a role in conversation. Based on the calculation results of the product moment correlation analysis, it can be seen that there is a positive correlation between democratic parenting and assertive behavior. This result is evidenced by the correlation coefficient rxy = 0.995, with a significant p = 0.007 <0.05. The determinant coefficient (r2) of the correlation between the independent variable and the dependent variable is r2= 0.989. In an effort to determine the conditions of democratic parenting and assertive behavior, it is necessary to compare the empirical mean/average value with the hypothetical mean/average value by taking into account the magnitude of the SB or SD number of the variable being measured. The SB or SD value ofen_US
