Hubungan Antara Harga Diri Dengan Kecenderungan Nomophobia Pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah Dan Keguruan Univeritas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara harga diri dengan kecenderungan nomophobia pada mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan di Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 6.190 orang yang merupakan mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Sampel yang didapatkan setelah melakukan screening yaitu berjumlah 93 mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu terdapat hubungan negatif antara harga diri dengan kecenderungan nomophobia pada mahasiswa. Dengan asumsi semikin rendah tingkat harga diri maka semakin tinggi tingkat kecenderungan nomophobia, begitupun sebaliknya, semakin tinggi tingkat harga diri maka semakin rendah tingkat kecenderungan nomophobia. Pengumpulan skala menggunakan skala likert. Dalam pengujian hipotesis yang diajukan menggunakan koefisien korelasi rxy = -0,552 ; p = 0,002 < 0,05. Variable harga diri berkontribusi dengan kecenderungan nomophobia sebesar 30.4%. Variable harga diri dinyatakan rendah, dengan nilai rata-rata empirik = 42,10 < rata-rata hipotetik = 50 dan selisihnya tidak melebihi satu SD. Sebaliknya, variable kecenderungan nomophobia dinyatakan tinggi karena nilai rata-rata empirik = 53,51 > rata-rata hipotetik = 45 dan selisihnya tidak lebih dari satu SD. Maka, terdapat hubungan negatif antara harga diri dengan kecenderungan nomophobia. Dari hasil yang diperoleh, dapat dinyatakan bahwa hipotesisi yang diajukan diterima. This study aims to determine correlation between self-esteem and the tendency of nomophobia among students of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. The population in this study amounted to 6,190 people who were students of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. The hypothesis put forward in this study is that there is a negative relationship between self-esteem and nomophobia in students. Assuming that the lower the level of self-esteem, the higher the level of nomophobia tendency, and vice versa, the higher the level of self-esteem, the lower the level of nomophobia tendency. Collection of scale using a Likert scale. In testing the hypothesis proposed using the correlation coefficient rxy = -0.552 ; p = 0.002 <0.05. Self-esteem variables contribute to the tendency of nomophobia by 30,4%. The self-esteem variable is stated to be low, with an empirical average value = 42.10 < hypothetical average = 50 and the difference does not exceed one SD. Conversely, the nomophobia tendency variable is stated to be high because the empirical average value = 53.51 > hypothetical average = 45 and the difference is not more than one SD. Thus, there is a negative correlation between self-esteem and nomophobia tendencies. From the results obtained, it can be stated that the proposed hypothesis is accepted.
