This study aims to determine the correlation between social support and coping for members of the North Sumatra Unit. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative approach. The sample taken for this study was the entire population of 65 people. The social support scale was arranged based on aspects according to Sarafino (2011) Emotional Support, Reward Support, Instrumental Support, Information Support, and Social Network Support. The coping stress scale is structured based on coping stress aspects as follows Lazarus (2014) Active coping strategies, planning strategies, taking other actions to avoid stressors, seeking social support. Based on the calculation results of product moment correlation analysis, it can be seen that there is a positive relationship between social support and problem focused coping. This result is evidenced by the correlation coefficient rxy = 0.962, with a significant p = 0.000 <0.05. The coefficient of determination (r2) = 0.925. This shows that social support is distributed at 92.50% of problem focused coping. Social support is moderate with a hypothetical mean value of 95.00 and an empirical mean of 79.953. Furthermore, problem focused coping can be concluded to obtain moderate results with a hypothetical value of 105.00 and an empirical value of 86.538. | en_US |
