Hubungan Pola Asuh Permisif dengan Penyesuaian Diri Mahasiswa Baru Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area

Abstract

Salah satu tugas perkembangan remaja yang paling penting dan sulit adalah penyesuaian diri terhadap pengaruh yang tumbuh dari kelompok sebaya, pergaulan, adaptasi, perubahan perilaku kelompok sosial baru, nilai-nilai baru dalam pilihan persahabatan, nilai-nilai baru dalam masyarakat, dukungan penolakan dan nilai-nilai baru dalam pemilihan kepemimpinan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan pola asuh permisif dengan penyesuaian diri mahasiswa baru universitas medan are. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif korelasional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa baru fakultas psikologi universitas medan area sebanyak 232 mahasiswa, dan sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 123 mahasiswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan skala pola asuh permisif dan penyesuaian diri. Teknik analalisis data menggunakan product momen. Bersadarkan perhitungan analisis r Product Moment dengan nilai koefisien (rxy) = 0,589 dan koefisien (r2) = 0,347 dengan p = 0,000 < 0,05. Hasil ini menunjukkan hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini di terima, yaitu terdapat hubungan positif antara pola asuh permisif dengan penyesuaian diri. Hasil lain yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa hubungan pola asuh permisif dengan penyesuaian diri terindikasi sedang dengan nilai rata-rata empirik pada pola asuh permisif yang diperoleh yaitu 36,13 sedangkan penyesuaian diri terindikasi sedang dengan nilai empirik yang diperoleh 38,92. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui perhitungan koefisien determinan (r2) = 0,347. Based on the calculation of r Product Moment analysis with the coefficient value (rxy) = 0.589 and coefficient (r2) = 0.347 with p = 0.000 < 0.05. These results show that the hypothesis proposed in this research is accepted, namely that there is a positive relationship between permissive parenting and self-adjustment. Another result obtained from this research is that the relationship between permissive parenting patterns and self-adjustment is indicated as moderate with the empirical average value obtained for permissive parenting patterns being 36.13, while self-adjustment is indicated as moderate with the empirical value obtained 38.92. This is proven by calculating the determinant coefficient (r2) = 0,347.
