Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemandirian ditinjau dari pola asuh orang tua pada siswa SMA Swasta Muhammadiyah 2 Medan. Metode penelitian kuntitatif komparatif. Sampel sebanyak 124 siswa di 21 kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling. Skala penelitian menggunakan model skala Likert melalui skala kemandirian dan skala pola asuh orang tua dari ketiga pola asuh demokratis, permisif dan otoriter. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik One Way Anova. Hasilmenunjukkan nilai F = 296,357 dengan p = 0,000 (p < 0,05.), terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terkait kemandirian pada remaja dengan pola asuh. Dari hasil analisis ini diketahui bahwa kemandirian siswa dengan pola asuh demokratis tergolong tinggi (mean empirik = 163,58 > mean hipotetik = 135), kemandirian siswa dengan pola asuh otoriter tergolong rendah (mean empirik = 125,81 < mean hipotetik = 135) dan kemandirian siswa dengan pola asuh permisif tergolong sedang (mean empirik = 153,01 > mean hipotetik = 135). This study aims to determine the difference in independence in terms of parenting patterns in students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Medan. Comparative kuantitative research method. The sample was 124 students in 21 classes. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The scale of the study used the Likert scale model through the independence scale and the parenting scale of the three democratic, permissive and authoritarian parenting styles. Data analysis techniques using the One Way Anova. The results showed a value of F = 296.357 with p = 0.000 (p < 0.05.), there was a significant difference related to independence in adolescents with parenting. From the results of this analysis, it is known that the independence of students with democratic parenting is high (empirical mean = 163.58 > hypothetical mean = 135), The independence of students with authoritarian parenting is low (empirical mean = 125.81 < hypothetical mean = 135) and the independence of students with permissive parenting is moderate (empirical mean = 154.31 > hypothetical mean = 135).
