Abstract: Beberapa bahan organik antara lain kotoran sapi, kotoran kambing, kotoran ayam, kotoran bebek, dan lain-lain dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pembuatan biogas. Biogas adalah gas yang dihasilkan dari fermentasi (penguraian) bahan organik dalam kondisi anaerobik. Pengumpulan data meliputi data primer dan sekunder. Data primer meliputi data wawancara dengan peternak. Data sekunder meliputi data massa kotoran ternak per hari, kandungan biogas, kandungan gas methan (CH4), dan nilai kesetaraan biogas dengan bahan bakar lainnya yang diambil dari literatur yang terdahulu.Jumlah massa kotoran ternak sapi dewasa dan anakan sebanyak 6250 kg⁄hari. Jumlah massa kotoran ternak kambing dewasa dan anakan sebanyak 331,73 kg⁄hari. Jumlah massa kotoran ternak babi dewasa dan anakan sebanyak 4445 kg⁄hari.Potensi biogas yang dihasilkan dari kotoran hewan ternak yang ada di Desa Tanjung Gusta, Kecamatan Sunggal, Kabupaten Deli Serdang sebesar 531,7 m3 per harinya. Yang setara dengan 664,6 kWh listrik, 244,5 kg LPG, 329,6 liter minyak tanah, 276,4 liter minyak solar, 425,3 liter bensin, 797,55 m3 gas kota, dan kayu bakar sebesar 1860,95 kg. Untuk satu peternakan dengan jumlah kotoran sebanyak 704 kg per hari, digunakan digester jenis fixed dome dengan diameter 1,42 m dan tinggi 1,01m. Several organic materials, including cow manure, goat manure, chicken manure, duck manure, etc., can be used to produce biogas. Biogas is a gas produced from the fermentation (decomposition) of organic matter under anaerobic conditions. Data collection includes primary and secondary data. Data Primary data includes interviews with breeders. Secondary data includes data on the mass of livestock manure per days, biogas content, methane gas (CH4) content, and the equivalence value of biogas and fuel others taken from previous literature. Total mass of manure of adult and calf cattle as much as 6250 kg⁄day. The total mass of manure of adult goats and puppies was 331.73 kg/day. The total mass of manure of adult pigs and puppies is 4445 kg/day. The potential of biogas produced from livestock manure in Tanjung Gusta Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency of 531.7 m3 per day. Which is equivalent to 664.6 kWh of electricity, 244.5 kg of LPG, 329.6 liters of kerosene, 276.4 liters of diesel oil, 425.3 liters of gasoline, 797.55 m3 of city gas, and 1860.95 kg of firewood. For one farm with a total of 704 kg of manure per day, a fixed dome type digester was used with diameter of 1.42 m and height of 1.01 m.
