Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana teknik usaha pengolahan gabah padi dengan menggunakan alat pengering padi berbahan bakar LPG dan bagaimana kelayakannya ditinjau dari kriteria investasi lainnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Merpati Workshop Jalan Pertahanan Desa Patumbak Kabupaten Deli Serdang Sumatera Utara yang merupakan usaha bengkel untuk pembuatan berbagai macam mesin-mesin produksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pengeringan padi dengan menggunakan alat pengering bahan bakar LPG layak secara teknis dan dapat dioperasikan pada saat hujan. Secara finansial, biaya pembuatan alat pengering padi skala menengah dengan berbahan bakar LPG sebesar Rp 7.500.000,- Kemudian biaya penyusutan sebesar Rp 500.000,- ditambah biaya pemeliharan sebesar Rp 1.000.000,-.. Dengan demikian usaha proses pengeringan padi dengan menggunakan alat pengering bahan bakar LPG layak di pasarkan. Dari hasil analisis sensitivitas yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan mesin pengering padi berbahan bakar LPG menguntungkan bisnis dan handal serta memenuhi kriteria investasi meskipun mengalami peningkatan biaya produksi. This study aims to find out how the rice grain processing business techniques using LPG-fired rice dryers and how the feasibility is in terms of other investment criteria. This research was conducted at the Merpati Workshop on Land Roads in Patumbak Village, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. which is a workshop business for manufacturing various kinds of production machines. The results showed that the process of drying rice using an LPG fuel dryer was technically feasible and could be operated at when it rains. Financially, the cost of making a medium-scale rice dryer with LPG fuel is IDR 7,500,000. Then the depreciation cost is IDR 500,000 plus maintenance costs IDR 1,000,000. marketable LPG fuel dryer. From the results of the sensitivity analysis that has been carried out, it shows that the use of LPG-fired rice drying machines is profitable for business and reliable and meets investment criteria despite increasing production costs.
