Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan keadaan penyakit bercak daun yang disebabkan oleh Cercospora capsici pada tanaman cabai merah (Capsicum annuum L.) antara daerah dataran tinggi dan dataran rendah selama musim hujan. Penyakit bercak daun merupakan salah satu masalah utama yang dapat mengurangi produksi dan kualitas tanaman cabai. Dataran tinggi dan dataran rendah memiliki kondisi lingkungan yang berbeda, termasuk suhu, curah hujan, dan kelembaban udara, yang dapat memengaruhi perkembangan penyakit. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei secara purposive random samplingatau metode acak dengan pendekatan deskriptif yang memusatkan perhatian pada permasalahan yang terjadi pada tanaman cabai di kebun petani. Penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Berastagi, Kabupaten Karo, dan Kecamatan Sunggal, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Pengamatan dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode diagonal, di mana kami menentukan 5 titik sampel secara acak di dataran tinggi dan 5 titik sampel di dataran rendah, masing-masing dengan ukuran 10x10 meter dan mencatat titik koordinat dan ketinggian tempat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas serangan penyakit bercak daun pada tanaman cabai merah cenderung lebih tinggi di dataran rendah, dengan rata-rata intensitas serangan berkisar antara 0.1607 hingga 0.8099. Sementara itu, intensitas serangan bercak daun di dataran tinggi cenderung lebih rendah, dengan rata-rata intensitas serangan berkisar antara 0.15282 hingga 0.4038. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai acuan dalam pengembangan strategi pengendalian penyakit bercak daun pada budidaya tanaman cabai merah dalam berbagai kondisi lingkungan. This research aims to compare the condition of leaf spot disease caused by Cercospora capsici in red chili plants (Capsicum annuum L.) between highland and lowland areas during the rainy season. Leaf spot disease is one of the major issues that can reduce the production and quality of chili plants. Highland and lowland areas have different environmental conditions, including temperature, rainfall, and humidity, which can affect the development of the disease. This study employed a purposive random sampling survey method or random method with a descriptive approach focusing on issues occurring in chili plants in farmers' gardens. The research was conducted in the Berastagi District, Karo Regency, and Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency. Observation and sample collection were carried out using a diagonal method, where we determined 5 random sample points in the highland and 5 sample points in the lowland, each measuring 10x10 meters, and recorded the coordinates and elevation of each location. The results of the study showed that the intensity of leaf spot disease in red chili plants tended to be higher in lowland areas, with an average intensity ranging from 0.1607 to 0.8099. Meanwhile, the intensity of leaf spot disease in highland areas tended to be lower, with an average intensity ranging from0.15282 to 0.4038. The findings of this research can be used as a reference for the development of strategies to control leaf spot disease in the cultivation of red chili plants under various environmental conditions.
