Abstract: Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi Perkerasan Jalan di Kawasan jalan Medan Tebing tinggi dimana sebagian sudah rusak. Banyak faktor yang menjadi penyebab kerusakan jalan salah satunya adalah berkurang kemampuan struktur perkerasan jalan dalam menjalankan fungsinya sebanding dengan bertambahnya umur perkerasan dan bertambahnya beban lalu lintas yang dipikul dari kondisi awal apalagi terdapat kendaraan dengan keadaan beban berlebih terhadap lapisan perkerasan. Hal ini merupakan alasan mendasar untuk menganalisis Studi Pengaruh Beban Berlebih (Overload) Terhadap Pengurangan Umur Rencana Perkerasan Jalan Medan-Tebing tinggi KM 27-28. Pada tulisan ini akan dilihat sejauh mana pengaruh dari kelebihan beban kendaraan terhadap umur perkerasan jalan. Angka ekivalen kendaraan dihitung dan N (ESAL) dihitung pada keadaan beban normal dan beban berlebih. Persen umur perkerasan jalan akibat kelebihan masing-masing muatan kemudian dihitung. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan seberapa pengaruh kelebihan muatan kendaraan terhadap umur perkerasan jalan. Dalam tugas akhir ini dapat dilihat, misalnya dengan kelebihan beban sebesar 5 %, 10 %, dan 15 % mempengaruhi persen umur masing-masing menjadi (-5,0%) (- 10%), dan (-3,5%),(-15%). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kelebihan beban kendaraan terhadap perkerasan jalan sangat berpengaruh terhadap pengurangan umur perkerasan jalan. Sehingga sangat diharapkan para pengguna jalan perlu mematuhi peraturan berlalu lintas yang ada. This research was motivated by the condition of the road pavement in the Medan Tebing Tinggi road area, some of which had been damaged. There are many factors that cause road damage, one of which is the reduced ability of the road pavement structure to carry out its function in proportion to the increasing age of the pavement and the increasing traffic load carried from the initial condition, especially as there are vehicles with excessive loads on the pavement layer. This is the fundamental reason for analyzing the Study of the Effect of Overload on Reducing the Planned Life of the Medan-Tebing Tinggi Road KM 27-28. In this article we will see the extent of the influence of vehicle overload on the life of road pavement. The vehicle equivalent figure is calculated and N (ESAL) is calculated under normal load and overload conditions. The percent age of the road pavement due to the excess of each load is then calculated. So it can be concluded how much influence vehicle overloading has on the life of the road pavement. In this final project it can be seen, for example, that an overload of 5%, 10%, and 15% affects the percent age respectively to (-5.0%) (-10%), and (- 3.5%), (-15%). So it can be concluded that the excess vehicle load on the road pavement has a significant effect on reducing the life of the road pavement. So it is hoped that road users will need to comply with existing traffic regulations.
