Hal ini disebabkan karena motor induksi mempunyai konstruksi yang sederhana dan harganya pun relatif murah dibandingkan dengan motor jenis yang lain. Motor induksi dapat dikendalikan kecepatan putarannya dengan pengaturan frekwensi yang disertai dengan pengaturan tegangan guna mendapatkan torsi yang konstan.
