Abstract: Dampak dari turunnya kualitas udara membawa pengaruh terhadap penjalaran cahaya di atmosf ir , terutama oleh partikel -partikel baik berupa zat padat , cair dan gas ataupun zat - zat aerosol lainnya. Hal ini dapat berakibat berubahnya jarak pandang terhadap suatu obyek. Minimnya ketersediaan perangkat ukur untuk mengukur jarak pandang mendatar , menyebabkan kebutuhan akan alat ukur ini menjadi sangat mahal dan penting. Salah satu cara untuk mengetahui jarak pandang mendatar akibat partikel - partikel yang terse bar di atmosf ir dapat dilakukan dengan metode absorpsi langsung dengan berkas tunggal. Oleh karena itu dalam tugas akhir ini , dibahas studi alat ukur jarak pandang mendatar secara optik dengan berdasarkan metode tersebut , yang memanfaatkan Hukum Beer-Lamber dan Koschmeider sehingga dapat diukur dan diketahui koef isien extinctiomya. Selanjutnya dapat ditentukan jarak pandang mendatar. Perkembangan perangkat ukur ini diharapkan bermanfaat dalam bidang pengamatan cuaca dan penelitian pencemaran udara. The impact of declining air quality has an impact on the propagation of light in the atmosphere, especially by fine particles in the form of solid, liquid and gas or other aerosol substances. This matter can result in changes in the visibility of an object. Minimal availability of measuring devices to measure distance horizontal view, causing the need for this measuring instrument to become very expensive and important. One way to find out distance horizontal view due to particles scattered in the ir atmosphere can be done by the direct absorption method with a single beam. Therefore, in this final assignment, the study of distance measuring instruments is discussed optically horizontal view based on this method, which utilizes the Beer-Lamber and Koschmeider Laws so that it can measured and known the extinctiomy coefficient. Next you can horizontal viewing distance is determined. It is hoped that the development of this measuring device will be useful in the field of weather observation and air pollution research.
