Pest control commonly used by farmers so far tends to rely only on synthetic pesticides by assuming pests will die quickly if given relatively high doses even though many plants can be used as natural pest control (biopepticide). The purpose of this study was to identify the types of secondary metabolite compounds contained in palm fruit peels by using GC-MS as a development opportunity for biopesticides. The method used is experimental and descriptive. Data analysis using chromatogram output results and GC-MS spectrum. The results showed that palm peel extract contains 13 secondary metabolite compounds that have the potential as biopesticides. These compounds can be categorized into 7 groups as follows: (1) Ketones, consisting of compounds 2,3- Pentanedione, 4-methyl and 3-(1-Hydroxy-2,2-dimethylpropyl)-2-cyclohexenone), (2) Lactones, consisting of compounds 4H-Pyran-4-one, and 2,3-dihydro-3,5- dihydroxy-6-methyl, (3) Aldehydes, consisting of compounds (5- Hydroxymethylfurfural, Benzaldehyde, 2-hydro), and Benzaldehyde, 2-hydro, (4) Phenol, consisting of compounds 2-Methoxy-4-vinylphenol, and Phenol, 2- methoxy-4-(1-propenyl)-(5) Amine, consisting of compounds 1H-1,2,4-Triazole- 3,5-diamine, 1-acetyl and (6) Alcohol, consisting of compounds 3-Hydroxy-2-(3- methoxyprop-2-enyl)tetrahydropyran), and 3-Decen-2-one, (7) Terpenes, including compounds Phytol and Squalene.en_US
