dc.description.abstractBeton adalah salah satu bahan konstruksi yang banyak dikembangkan dalam teknologi bahan konstruksi yang tersusun dari campuran homogen yang terdiri dari semen, air, agregat, zat additive dan jika diperlukan bahan tambah atau pengganti, sangat diperlukan suatu teknologi konstruksi yang dapat mengurangi eksploitasi alam dan dapat memanfaatkan limbah-limbah alam. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh filler limbah alam terhadap kuat tekan beton maka dilakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan bahan pengganti berupa serbuk arang kayu yang bersumber dari pembongkaran rumah kayu dan penggunaan zat retarder yaitu Citric Acid. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknik Sipil Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara. Dengan menggunakan metode dan langkahlangkah yang dilakukan seperti saat praktikum beton. Setelah penelitian, diketahui kuat tekan beton normal 22,38 MPa, beton normal ditambah serbuk arang kayu 10% didapat kuat tekan 23,27 MPa, beton normal ditambah serbuk arang kayu 15% didapat kuat tekan 23,26 MPa, beton normal ditambah serbuk arang kayu 10% + retarder 0,4% didapat kuat tekan 23,34 MPa, beton normal ditambah serbuk arang kayu 15% + retarder didapat kuat tekan 23,46 MPa. Sedangkan untuk penyerapan air terjadi kenaikan pada 10% yang didapat sebesar 0,64% dan terjadi penurunan pada 10% + retarder 0,4% didapat sebesar 0,25%. Dari hasil penelitian didapat kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan filler limbah arang kayu dapat mempengaruhi kuat tekan beton, terjadi kenaikan pada penyerapan air dan penurunan nilai slump pada penambahan serbuk arang kayu 15%, retarder dapat mengurangi penyerapan air pada beton normal ditambah serbuk arang kayu. Concrete is one of the most widely developed construction materials in construction material technology composed of homogeneous mixtures consisting of cement, water, aggregate, additive or substitute if it is needed, it is necessary a construction technology that can reduce natural exploitation and can utilize natural waste . To find out the effect of natural waste filler on concrete compressive strength, the research was done by using a substitute of wood charcoal powder which was sourced from demolition of wooden house and the use of retarder substance is Citric Acid. This research was conducted at Civil Engineering Laboratory of Islamic University of North Sumatra. By using methods and steps taken as during concrete laboratory work. After the research, it is known that normal concrete compressive strength 22,38 MPa, normal concrete plus 10% charcoal powder of wood obtained by compressive strength 23,27 MPa, normal concrete plus 15% charcoal powder of wood obtained with compressive strength 23,26 MPa, plus 10% wood charcoal powder + 0.4% retarder got compressive strength 23,34 MPa, normal concrete plus 15% wood charcoal + retarder got compressive strength 23,46 MPa. As for the absorption of water occurs a 10% increase obtained by 0.64% and a decrease of 10% + 0.4% retarder obtained by 0.25%. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that the use of wood charcoal waste filler can influence the compressive strength of concrete, there is an increase of water absorption and slump value decrease in the addition of 15% wood charcoal powder, retarder can reduce water absorption in normal concrete plus wood charcoal powder.en_US
