dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara dukungan teman sebaya dengan student engagement pada siswa SMP Yayasan Mulia Setia Budi Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 52 orang siswa/i. Penelitian ini disusun berdasarkan metode skala dukungan teman sebaya yaitu keterbukaan individu dalam kelompok, kerjasama individu dalam kelompok, frekuensi hubungan individu dalam kelompok dan skala student engagement yaitu behavior engagement, emotional engagement dan cognitive engagement. Tekhnik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tekhnik kolerasi r product moment pearson. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan koefisien (rxy) dimana 0,558 dengan signifikan p = 0,000 < 0,05 Artinya hipotesis yang diajukan diterima. Diasumsikan bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan teman sebaya maka semakin tinggi student engagement pada siswa. Begitupun sebaliknya, semakin rendah dukungan teman sebaya semakin rendah tingkat student engagement pada siswa tersebut. Adapun koefisien determinasi dari korelasi tersebut ditemukan sebesar r2 = 0,309. Ini menunjukkan bahwa dukungan teman sebaya berkontribusi terhadap student engagement 30,9%. Dari hasil analisis ini diketahui bahwa dukungan teman sebaya pada siswa-siswi di SMP Yayasan Mulia Setia Budi Medan tergolong tinggi (mean empirik = 102,27 > mean hipotetik = 95,5). This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between friend support the same as student engagement at the Mulia Setia Budi Foundation Middle School students in Medan. This research uses quantitative correlational methods. Number of samples in This research consisted of 52 students. This research was structured based on the scale method peer support, namely openness of individuals in groups, individual cooperation in groups, frequency of individual relationships in groups and student scale engagement, namely behavioral engagement, emotional engagement and cognitive engagement. The data analysis technique in this research uses the r correlation technique product moment pearson. The results of data analysis show the coefficient (rxy) which is 0.558 with significant p = 0.000 < 0.05. This means that the proposed hypothesis is accepted. It is assumed that the higher the peer support, the higher the student engagement in students. Vice versa, the lower the peer support the lower the level of student engagement for these students. As for the coefficient The determination of this correlation was found to be r2 = 0.309. This shows that peer support contributes to student engagement 30.9%. From the results This analysis shows that peer support for students at Foundation Middle School Mulia Setia Budi Medan is classified as high (empirical mean = 102.27 > hypothetical mean = 95.5).en_US
