dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini mengkaji berbagai tumbuhan obat yang tumbuh di Desa Dolat Rayat, Kecamatan Dolat Rayat, Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Utara. Berada pada ketinggian antara 200 hingga 1.418 meter di atas permukaan laut, area ini menawarkan keanekaragaman tumbuhan yang memiliki potensi medis. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, survei lapangan, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan tentang kekayaan herbal di daerah tersebut dan potensinya dalam bidang medis. Dengan pendekatan eksploratif deskriptif, studi ini berhasil mengidentifikasi 18 jenis tumbuhan obat yang telah lama digunakan oleh masyarakat lokal untuk pengobatan tradisional. Tumbuhan obat tersebut yaitu Arbei Hutan (Rubus rosifolius), Surat Dibata (Macodes petola), Bawang Dayak (Eleutherine bulbosa), Ketang/rotan (Calamus diepenhorstii Miq), Rosemari (Rosmarinus officinalis), Kumis Kucing (Orthosiphon aristatus), Terbangun Ratah (Plectranthus amboinicus), Pegagan (Centella asiatica), Peppermint (Mentha piperita), Pacar Air (Impatiens balsamina L.), Daun Inggu (Ruta angustifolia Pers), Parijoto (Medinilla speciosa), Kantong Semar (Nephentes L.), Daun Sendok (Plantago major), Sibagori (Sida rhombifolia L.), Patah Tulang (Euphorbia tirucalli L.), Senduduk Bulu (Clidemia hirta L.), Belo-Belo/Sirih Merah (Piper ornatum). This study investigates various medicinal plants found in Dolat Rayat Village, Dolat Rayat Subdistrict, Karo District, North Sumatra. Situated at an elevation ranging from 200 to 1,418 meters above sea level, this area boasts a diversity of plants with medicinal potential. Data were collected through interviews, field surveys, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings shed light on the herbal richness of the area and its potential in the medical field. Adopting a descriptive exploratory approach, this study successfully identified 18 types of medicinal plants that have long been used by local communities for traditional treatments. These medicinal plants include Arbei Hutan (Rubus rosifolius), Surat Dibata (Macodes petola), Bawang Dayak (Eleutherine bulbosa), Ketang/rattan (Calamus diepenhorstii Miq), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Cat's Whiskers (Orthosiphon aristatus), Cuban Oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus), Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica), Peppermint (Mentha piperita), Garden Balsam (Impatiens balsamina L.), Ruta Leaves (Ruta angustifolia Pers), Parijoto (Medinilla speciosa), Pitcher Plant (Nephentes L.), Plantain (Plantago major), Sibagori (Sida rhombifolia L.), Pencil Tree (Euphorbia tirucalli L.), Hairy Clidemia (Clidemia hirta L.), and Piper leaf (Piper ornatum).en_US
