Hubungan antara Teman Sebaya dengan Konsep Diri pada Remaja Siswa SMP Swasta Elida Medan, Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara teman sebaya dengan konsep diri pada remaja siswa SMP Swasta Elida Medan, Sumatera Utara. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan skala teman sebaya menurut Surya (dalam Rahmawati, 2022), yaitu: mengetahui dengan siapa anak bergaul, aktivitas yang sering dilakukan dalam kelompok teman sebaya dan intensitas. Skala konsep diri disusun menurut Rahmat (dalam Rahmawati, 2022), yaitu: aspek fisiologis, aspek psikologis, aspek pro-sosialis dan aspek pro-spritual. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlan 77 orang siswa kelas IX SMP dengan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan jenis Probability Sampling dan menggunakan Quota sampling. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang positif antara variabel teman sebaya dengan variabel konsep diri dengan koefesien korelasi rxy = 0,643, dengan siginifikan p = 0,000 < 0,05. Kemudian, berdasarkan hasil analisis data koefesien determinan (r2) dari hubungan antara variabel teman sebaya dengan variabel konsep diri diperoleh hasil sebesar 0,413. Sehingga bisa ditarik kesimpulan bahwa variabel teman sebaya dengan variable konsep diri pada remaja terdistribusi sebesar 41,3%. Selanjutnya dari hasil perhitungan nilai mean (rata-rata) hipotetik dan empirik dapat disimpulkan bahwa variabel teman sebaya pada siswa/siswi SMP Swasta Elida Medan tergolong rendah, dengan perolehan hasil rata-rata (mean) hipotetik variabel teman sebaya sebesar 52,5 dengan rata-rata (mean) empirik sebesar 75,05. Sedangkan hasil (mean) hipotetik variabel konsep diri sebesar 87,5 dengan (mean) empirik sebesar 57,5. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between peers and self-concept among adolescent students at Elida Private Middle School in Medan, North Sumatra. The type of research used in this research is quantitative using the peer scale according to Surya (in Rahmawati, 2022), namely: knowing who the child hangs out with, the activities that are often carried out in the peer group and the intensity. The self-concept scale is compiled according to Rahmat (in Rahmawati, 2022), namely: physiological aspects, psychological aspects, pro-socialist aspects and pro-spiritual aspects. The sample in this study consisted of 77 class IX SMP students with a sampling technique using Probability Sampling type and using Quota sampling. The results of the research show that there is a positive relationship between the peer variable and the self-concept variable with a correlation coefficient rxy = 0.643, with a significant p = 0.000 < 0.05. Then, based on the results of data analysis, the determinant coefficient (r2) of the relationship between the peer variable and the self-concept variable The result obtained was 0.413. So it can be concluded that the peer variable and self-concept variable in adolescents are distributed by 41.3%. Furthermore, from the results of calculating the hypothetical and empirical mean (average) values, it can be concluded that the peer variable for students at Elida Medan Private Middle School is relatively low, with the hypothetical average (mean) result of the peer variable being 52.5 with an average -empirical average (mean) of 75.05. Meanwhile, the hypothetical (mean) result of the self-concept variable is 87.5 with an empirical (mean) of 57.5.
