Corn stover has not been widely used as animal feed due to its high fiber content. One of the efforts that can be made to improve the quality of corn stover as animal feed is the fermentation process. This study aims to determine whether feed made from corn stover can have an effect in increasing the body weight of broiler chickens. This research was conducted in June - August 2023 at Bakti Farm on Jalan Pasar II Saentis, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. The research method used was experimental using a completely randomized design (CRD). The research was carried out with 4 stages, namely the sample preparation stage, feed preparation, feed application and observation of broiler body weight. The feed combination used consisted of 3 combinations, namely P1 (30 gr corn stover + 50 gr bran + 20 gr milk powder), P2 (40 gr corn stover + 40 gr bran + 20 gr milk powder) and P3 (50 gr corn stover + 30 gr bran + 20 gr milk powder). The results of the analysis of variance showed that the feeding of corncob-based feed was not significantly different (P>0.05) in each treatment because feed consumption did not meet the dietary needs of broiler chickens which require a lot of protein. | en_US |
