Hubungan antara Kepercayaan Diri dengan Minat Melanjutkan Pendidikan ke Perguruan Tinggi pada Siswa Kelas XI SMA Swasta Josua Medan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan mendapatkan data empms tentang hubungan kepercayaan diri dengan minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke Perguruan Tinggi pada siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Josua Medan. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode skala yang terdiri dari skala kepercayaan diri dan skala minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Swasta Josua Medan dengan jumlah sampelnya 103 orang, pengumpulan sampel menggunakan teknik total sampling. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan yang positif antara kepercayaan diri dengan minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi, dengan asumsi semakin tinggi tingkat kepercayaan diri seseorang maka semakin tinggi pula minat seseorang untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi demikian sebaliknya. Berdasarkan analisis data, maka diperoleh hasil sebagai berikut: 1). Terdapat hubungan positif yang sangat signifikan antara kepercayaan diri dengan minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi, dimana fxy= 0,650; p=0,000<0,010. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, maka hipotesis yang diajukan dinyatakan diterima. 2). Sumbangan efektif kepercayaan diri dengan minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke Perguruan Tinggi sebesar 42,3% dan faktor lain memberi pengarnh sebesar 57,7%. 3). Hasil penelitian lain yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini, yakni para siswa SMA Swasta Josua ternyata memiliki kepercayaan diri yang tergolong rendah, karena mean rata-rata hipotetik < mean/ nilai rata-rata empirik, dimana selisihnya melebilii 50,79 maka dinyatakan bahwa kepercayaan diri tergolong rendah. Selanjutnya mean/ nilai rata-rata empirik, dimana selisilmya melebihi 48,81, maka dinyatakan bahwa minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke Perguruan Tinggi tergolong rendah.
