Abstract: | Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Hama Penyakit Tumbuhan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Medan Area, mulai bulan April sampai dengan Juli 2008. This research was conducted at the Plant Pest and Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture Medan Area University, from April to July 2008. With The aim is to find out the type of storage material that is most preferred by Tribolium sp. in supporting his/her life development. Ingredients used in This research includes; rice flour, white sticky rice flour, black sticky rice flour, corn flour, starch/tapioca flour and wheat flour. The tools gauze was used in this study. plastic jars, digital scales, scissors, brushes, tissue paper, microscope, and other tools needed according to the research stages. This research was carried out with using a Non Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD), namely: Type factor flour storage material (T) consisting of: T1 = Wheat Flour; T2 = Flour White rice; T3 = Black Glutinous Rice Flour; T4 = Corn Flour; T5 = Flour Starch/tapioca ; T6 = Cornstarch. The research results show that pests Tribo/lium sp. really likes wheat flour as a feed ingredient. Percentage mortality of Tribol/ium sp. on some storage materials the effect is not significant at the age of I - 8 DSA, but has a very real effect from the age of 10 - 28 DSA. The highest percentage of mortality was found in flour storage materials corn (T4) with a mortality percentage of 47.0%. Meanwhile the percentage The smallest mortality was found in the type of wheat flour storage material (Ti) with a percentage of 26.9%. |
