Abstract: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif pada mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan 150 orang mahasiswa-mahasiswi yang berada di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Medan Area dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling. Analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan bantuan software SPSS dengan analisis product moment. Dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis diterima yaitu ada hubungan harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif pada mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan Metode Analisis Korelasi r Product Moment, diketahui bahwa ada hubungan antara harga diri dengan perilaku konsumtif dimana Rxy = 0,801 dengan signifikan p = 0.000 < 0,050. Artinya semakin tinggi harga diri maka semakin rendah perilaku konsumtif dinyatakan diterima. Koefisien determinan (R2 ) dari hubungan antara variabel bebas X dengan variabel terikat Y adalah sebesar R2 = 0,642. Ini menunjukkan bahwa harga diri berkontribusi atau memberikan sumbangsi terhadap perilaku konsumtif sebesar 64,2%. The pwpose of this research was to examine the correlation between self esteem and consumptive behavior among students. The method used in this research was quantitative. This study involved 150 students from the faculty of Psychology at Universitas Medan Area, with the sampling technique being purposive sampling. The analysis in this research was conducted using SPSS software with product moment analysis. This study showed that the hypothesis was accepted, indicating a correlation between selj:esteem and consumptive behavior among students. The results of the research, based on the analysis using the Correlation A11alysis Method with the Product Moment r, revealed that there was a correlation between self-esteem and consumptive behavior where Rxy = 0.80 J with a significance of p = 0.000 < 0. 050. This means that the higher the self-esteem, the lower the con~11mplive behavior, which was accepted. The coefficient of determinatio11 (R 1) of the correlation between the independent variable X and /he dependent variable Y was R2 = 0.642. This indicated that self-esteem contributed to consumptive behavior by 64.2%.
